I think you have to make up your own mind based on the information available and match a broker to your own requirements, not everyone's trading needs are the same. You've also got to take into account the source of the information you read on forums like this, does it come from an active trader who has practical experience or does it come from a theorist who has probably never traded live (profitably) with any of these firms. IB aren't perfect either, no broker is, they have their own problems. There's another thread here on ET which discusses the same subject, again ad nauseum with some of the same contributors, you will see how some people were unable to substantiate their claims or support their argument when challenged with awkward questions. That kinda speaks for itself. There's also an interesting article here which compares the pros and cons of ECN vs bucketshop. You pays your money, you takes your choice Good luck!
I couldn't work out if the guy is a troll or just plain dumb, probably a bit of both! Either way he's a waste of time talking to but hopefully the threads will be helpful to others. I had a discussion with him about the same subject in this thread. He got very confused and couldn't answer some challenging questions, not unusual for those types of people who are all theory and no practice! Anyway......NFP today could be fun, I think I'll have the day off and make it a long weekend! Good trading to all those who do actually trade, and happy trolling to those who don't
you use this link to demonstrate IB has its own problems? That idiot put in market orders during news events and the most volatile time in YEARS. You are such a shill. AT LEAST stick to facts when you try to hype OANDA and bash IB. By the way YOU WROTE "I'm out of this thread, I've made my point and backed it up with plenty of trade blotters whereas...!" --> Why still here? Can't stick to your own promises?
Yep, here's another, like I say no broker is without it's own issues which is to be expected given the amount of software and number of connections involved. That's why it's always best to make as many contingency plans as possible in case something goes wrong somewhere, you'll find that out if/when you start trading. Promises? lol, where did I make any promises? There were some relevant posts and I replied to them, simple as that, it's the basic principle of how forums work
no, all this shows is the basic principle of how you twist the truth from your first post all the way till this one. Ups, almost forgot, you must be busy trying to connect to your trading platform which broke down AGAIN (see screen shot below). If you think I made this up as well everyone is free to inquire directly with OANDA what this is all about.....great set up you got there buddy ;-) (its shortly before 8am ET, and I did mention I use a demo Oanda version just for charting purposes, did I not...)
No disconnections here, everything's fine on the FXTrade live platform thanks, must be your DEMO FXGAME platform where you trade all your big volume! After all your comments like "I use Reuters, EBS, Hotspot, IB and other ECNs.".....it turns out you're just an Oanda demo trader, lol! It's no surprise but it's still just toooooooooo funny to finally see you admit it. How did it go, "Credit to who deserves credit", at least you came clean in the end!
buddy, I mentioned I use Amibroker and Oanda for charting, IB for trading. Here my bbg screen you seem to put up so many lies that you have a hard time believing anyone else, what a shame.
Of course you do buddy, I mean Oanda's charts are so feature rich everyone uses them demo......not! Give it up man, it's over, you're busted Oh hello, what's this, more problems and bugs on IB TWS  Anyway enough already, this is just so easy it's not sporting any more.....enjoy your Oanda charts fella, have fun!
a) you lied in your earlier post b) Oanda (demo or not ) was down for one hour earlier c) IB is up and running without the slightest issue today d) my Bloomberg is up and running e) you DONT have bloomberg => happy weekend to you ;-)
