I have decided to put a significant amount of my money with AMP

In defense of AMP they did not post any "personal information" about you other than the size you've admitted to taking. TBH I don't get the $800/car without any limits posted on their site. It's what's kept me from funding an AMP account.

Ironically, they are a lot more conservative that I'd thought, although nothing is in writing. I would be irked as well if the $800 offer was a bait and switch.

I'd counter with whatever solves for 100 points of intraday risk on ES (200 lot per mil; $5K per) and call it a day. You're not going to be satisfied with any of the major FCMs moving that size for that cost-structure.

I had $2MM with Refco in 2003 and they would go to PHONE ONLY when vol rallied. They were the only house that offered eccotrader at the time. I moved to Stone before Refco's blowup.

  2. Well I dont like account balances being posted as well, but its fine.

Yea, they really shouldn't advertise that shit if they are clearly changing it up on any 7 figure+ account. Bait and switch indeed.

Ninjatrader has offered me much better rates, at far bigger size. $6000 per lot is ridiculous. You can get that with JPM at $50 million.

Not surprised that AMP would do that, just surprised at their responses, filled with strange unrelated arguments, incorrect and completely unrelated facts, and broken ass English all the time. Just going to move the money out.

I rarely spec in futures. I can trade SPX synthetics for $1.30 per combo all-in and I always carry overnights. I don't even have portfolio-margin accounts as IB and others would arbitrarily reduce concentration limits and with RegT I know where I stand.

I don't know why you didn't go with Ninja from the outset but I don't like their front-end at all. I'd rather trade through TradingTechnologies than NT any day. I see that you can clear Phillip or Dorman. Both are good.

I think it's going to be hard to find a shop that's going to allow you to trade say, $2K per lot up to your net liq. Perhaps, but that's beyond my experience/expertise.

  4. I was only looking for $2k per lot up to $2 million. NT says they can provide that, but of course at least they are not guaranteeing it.

I thought TT was only software?

FWIW I cleared JPM as late as 2011 in equity vol and they were half of initial (for index futs intraday) but that was $10-15MM (HF).

It is (only software). I thought that Ninja pushes their front-end. I think your decision is made.

  7. Not too sure about that, I will take a look.

Haven't used TT yet but I want to use with NT if possible. If its too much of a hassle will figure it out later. Dont want to use NT front-end if I can help it.

  9. ET poster @garachen might be a good resource here. Maybe try messaging him. He's mentioned that he likes questions related to fees, infrastructure, exchange seats FCMs etc and has always placed an emphasis on trying to get your fees and commissions down as low as possible. On another forum he mentioned that his fees plus commish on the ES are less than 20 cents a side (or "all in" not sure if that's for both sides and this was 2013, might be different now).
