i notice login problem on friday. login to one account may take forever, with no problem at all on another account. same for paper accounts.
lol ... ok, mine's back. We'll see if it lasts. Edit: Sorry, spoke too soon. Account is visible again (lost it for awhile), but still can't add symbols. Not completely fixed yet.
This was Tummies reply to me on another thread: Just one problem after the other Hey Tums, you're right, I'm wrong. Interactive Brokers RULES! LMAO, what the hell do you guys do, flip a coin every day to see if it is going to fuck up or not!?? But seriously, can the bullshit and get a basic system together that works! Good, er, problem solving (while either the market runs, or even worse, runs against your position) JJ
LOL Ummm yes you can it's called a prop shop and you don't have to follow the stupid pattern day trader rules.
we noticed the same thing, I trade 3 accounts while overseeing others, two stayed up while the 3rd lost connection. I know I am on several of their servers. The one that lost the connection was the account that had positions which had larger than usual volatility. Not sure if above is valid or just an observation. today it took several attempts to log into one account while the rest were fine and I only lost data a few times today. much better than the last few wks. re your pending orders I would check with IB to validate that you have no pending orders that have been filled and are not visible. This has happened to us many times and does not show up in the account window all the time. I have also noticed that the excess liquidity no. changes by thousands of dollars along with the bp when no positions have been filled or exercised to have it correct back a few minutes later. w
What would be the best alternative to IB for trading YM? I already have a Tradestation account for backup... Is Zen-Fire a more stable client? What other technology should I be looking at to replace IB? Thank you
Way to think positive. I just lost $thousands after everything crashed and I couldn't get anybody on the phone, but at least I wasn't overpaying in commissions.
