Great point... especially true with vix etns like TVIX, it's "buy the dip, sell the rip" to take the money and run. Like when I sold it for long term swing at 940 earlier, takin' that bacon. And you're exactly right, I routinely kick myself when I don't book early profits, only to see it reverse. Gets tricky swing trading with unpredictable gaps.
Something's dancing every damm day . What i try to give back to trading is to teach people concepts, principals and rules to live by. If i posted all my trades and show i have 90% accuracy what good does it do you? I know i would get a lot of pats on the back and some attention. Rule #1 is the only thing you control is your loses . If you control your loses you should succeed in time . Controlling your loses allows you to stay in the game and eventually hit the big winner. When you let the losers run not only does it mess your head up but it takes you out of the game for the time the opportunity arrives. This is nothing but a game of probability's .
Speaking of bacon, have been watching Hog charts? I do not but have been peering at the live cows (futures), and they have ripped up 10 points over the last five trading sessions. I bet hogs have done similar if not better over that timeframe. As you seem to do only stocks, look over the meat processor companies if they are public?
TVIX is fun to watch but dangerous. Traded it many times but waiting until the VIX drops alllllllllll the way back down to 12 to touch that again. By then TVIX will be under $15 or so. Until then who knows how high the vix can jump back up to.
Man.... this market is something else..... castrated me the whole way up on the short side.... taught me to take profits then it puts in a fucking 60 point move... and I wasn't willing to chase....... if I had held that position I would have had to hold through 65k of pain before it turned lol how do you trade that move? The Joy's of trading hahaha Hardest and most frustrating fucking job in the world Hope everyone is doing good today!!
