I am having the time of my life...I have not bought a new computer in 6 years...(Radio Shack replaced one of my 3 year old notebooks, under warranty for free, which of course I still have...this is my HP pavillion ze5600) My Pentium III desktop (Compaq AP350) I bought used for 200 bucks including shipping, tax, dual monitor card...several years ago....from PCsurplus online My Compaq Presario 1236, I am the original owner of and have had it for about 6 years....Windows 98 is not very good...(I got some sort of a check for a class action lawsuit on this one, but I can't remember how much) Michael B.
This new purchase includes a warranty. I know longer buy Radio Shack warranties....I advocated this once when buying a used computer...but the prices have come down so much....just throw em' out....or save them for parts. Cable and DSL babbbbby......I am indestructable... Michael B. P.S. Notebooks seem less reliable than desktops...thats been my experience so far...Those extended radio shack warranties paid off...especially because they provide replacement batteries...I need another one for the ze)
That funky case may not fit in with my decor however....its a teenagers case for a trading room...I just wanted that temp display...but the bright colors and fancy faceplate is unnecessary... NeonSavant
Hey gnomey..I may need your expertise, can you come over and help me set this up or at least make sure I got everything correct?...How much u charge? Michael B.
I don't know anything about networking... have never done so with mine. But otherwise, I think the going rate is a 12-pack of Fat Tire.
Kewl!!!! I'll get it set up...then I will need to brag over some brews with you...I hope your up for it... Neon...
I noticed that your machine is being delivered with a formatted disk only. I assume you will be installing the XP operating system. This implies that you will not know whether the various components play well together. I'd ensure that you get the drivers required for the motherboard and all plug-in cards. You might talk to the vendor to determine whether they used the drivers they are delivering to test your machine or others that they may have downloaded from a web site, placed on your machine, and then erased when they formatted your drive for delivery. Might save you some trouble when you do the install. Jack
