Hope they didn't sell them as "real" diamonds!

"...Desert diamonds (also called Saudi diamonds) are just high-grade quartz,..."

  4. Hey guys - I've been a lurker on these forumes for a while but finally decided it was time to post.

I think Rearden Metal said it best when he said:

"When you have a true edge, it's not gambling... it's gam-bling-bling."

I am up money in certain things in life that others feel is purely gambling such as poker, pool, and blackjack. When someone does have an edge at something that favors you other the other person it is no longer gambling...the problem is not too many people seem to understand that.

My success in blackjack is not very significant as I have only been 21 for about 6 months or so, but being the book-worm that I am and hearing about card-counting systems I have read several books in the past on card- counting - the best by far being "Blackjack for Blood" (I recommend this book to anyone who is serious about learning card counting strategy for blackjack) and I have logged profit over the long run in blackjack sessions.

My poker success was huge for me - most poker sites being only 18+ it was a good source of income and easy to play from home. This is all thanks to a strategy that I learned from a good friend that I actually met on Party Poker. The "honey hole" in online poker was 10 person sit-n-go tournaments that paid 5x the buy in for 1st place, 3x the buy in for 2nd place, and 2x the buy in for 3rd place. Anyone who hit online poker during its golden era who knew a winning sit n go strategy would have made a lot of money. The ones I played most often were $200+$15 sit-n-gos with $15 going to the rake, so $1000 for 1st, $600 for 2nd, and $400 for 3rd, and it was not hard to make $1000-$2000 a day doing these.

As far as pool, I was always a good pool player and there was always a cocky guy trying to impress someone who couldn't say no to you if you asked to play for money. These are most of the people that I made money from but also from trick shots that few people knew that I would bet money on (these required hours of practice but they paid off).

Although there are a lot of things in life that most people feel is gambling, many of them can be beat...except sports betting. If anyone here has beaten sports betting long term I'd like to hear your story. I tried for a little while doing research on games and reading everything I could find but could not beat sports and I am convinced that sports betting cannot be beat in the long run.

  5. lol till you are killed by an IED or you are kidnappend and some terriost decides to cut your headoff, with a knife. Have you even seen that video where it was shown on tv, of that guy who literally had his head sawed off. It wasnt quick and painless, it was slow and manical. No a job in iraq is not worth it. If you think the troops in iraq are badly supplied, you should look at the contract workers. They are bascially given 4 weeks weopens and self defence training and sent into the wild. While soldiers with years of training are saying they are underequiped and not trained for the situation :D Yeah iraq is the place for you.
