Original poster, you are clearly at the absolute beginning of your trading adventure. You first need to educate yourself on the subject. Read the popular trading books. Setup an account that you can do simulated trading. Experiment with simulated trading as you save money, because you will need to save a lot of money before you start live trading. It will literally take you at least a year before you have the minimum understanding needed to start trading without losing all your money. You are right that you should learn about economics, market behavior, fundamental analysis (analyzing companies financial statements, etc), technical analysis (chart reading), and a lot more. Consistency is key. Read everyday. Read internet based finance news. I could go on and on... In summary- educate yourself.
