Holding here as well. Short 3 at 12680. Thin volume into the close. Up until today 12650/660 was an excellent place to short. On to new territory.
It cost me about $400 to get that position at the end of the day. I started shorting and getting stopped out at 12630. My trade is short term only. If it drops I will use a trailing stop until stopped out. If not I'll get short again higher up. Would love catch a 400/500 point drop some day (who wouldn't?). Only way to do is be short at recent highs. Ever see a 500 point rise in one day? (I think someone asked you why you trade against the trend earlier, that's why I do it, but I'm not a pro).
If anyone were to ck back to some earlier pics they would see i rode trend. But "trend" is dependent/relative to time frame. right?? Yeah, when i entered this sht @ 661 i suspected that there might be a last min push up at the DOW close-happens alot. Didnt know for sure though. Thats why i put the stop way up. BTW, BK....i hope the way we have been using language here doesnt bother you. E.g. " ... i am winning now with -23 tics". It's Electric's fault. His thread. ES is very twisted - a sick person. It's kinda Hegelian, maybe. Anyway, thanks for posting . see ya soon maybe.
FWIW I'll post back here. Sunday night (Mon., Tues., Wed. . . ., hey, we can only hope). Seems lately when it makes a recent high in this price territory they kick the snot out of it the next day. I had good luck earlier in the day when I had a standing sell limit order get hit at 650 when it ramped up after the open. Bot back around 610 after it bounced off the bottom. Did not have the guts to go long there. Don't quite have the guts to go long near a recent high but then again I'm pretty new at this.
im still short @ 12661 (duhhh). Es, this is a winner with -27. i can increase my lead on you so much you wont catch me for the rest of the mo. Give up. You cant compete with me.
Short 2 at 12735. Perhaps we've turned the corner. Stops at 12750. From NMW p.402 (Jeff Yass): ". . . once in a great while, you may get a day with the Dow down 500 points, but is is far less likely that the Dow will go up 500 points. Given the nature of markets, the chance of a crash is always greater than the chanceof an overnight runaway euphoria."
