I don't understand one thing ES Shooter, if you're doing so well why do you need to come here and tell everybody about it like you're something special? I don't understand people who come to brag about their trading, especially to people who don't know them and can't verify what they're doing anyway. It's not like you call out trades to people in real time, or they see a verified link to your brokerage account. Anybody can come here and say they made X dollars, and so who cares? Especially since we're talking a small sample size here. As Mark Douglas says, it doesn't take any skill to put on a winning trade. For fun I've run repeated simulations of negative expectancy statistics and I've been amazed that quite a few times you can get a good run of positive trendiness for a considerable length. Incidentally the inverse also applies, and with the leverage you're using you may not survive the inevitable drawdowns with your positive expectancy system. Your posts reek of ego, furthermore, a sick child like version of it. Not only does that make your credibility questionable, but it also forecasts how your hot streak is likely to end. If you want approval, go join a trading competition. Show them what you can do behind your real name, and if you really do kick butt you can get all the recognition you want plus a chance to manage money (and then you can start one of those online trading rooms that charge $400 a month per viewer .
I have been following this site for several years. I have seen good traders get runoff by people like EMG. There are plenty of negative people on this site that just come on here and knock people. My goal is to piss those people off by showing a little bit of money can be turned into alot. I have told 2 different people over the years to look at this site. They signed up and eventually got ran off by all the negative naysayers that greet new members.
Yes, there are naysayers on ET that give people a hard time for no good reason. One of my favorites is "It's impossible to day trade for a living". But there are also scores of arrogant SOBs who love to rub it into people's faces as well. Neither are pleasant characters to run into. Handle123 happens to be one of the coolest people here (who is also very experienced and has done very well for himself) and you brushed him off. He doesn't come on to brag, he just comes to talk about the markets because that's what he loves to do, and based on what I've read he seems to know what he's doing more than most people on here. To me that's what this forum should be about, talking about what we love to do, not bragging or taking people down. If you run up a $400 account to $400,000 or $4,000,000 good for you. Only problem is it's been done before. And whenever you're doing something like that, you are in a way gambling because the leverage can easily wipe out the account even with a positive expectancy strategy and solid execution, at which point you begin your journey of taking $400 to $400,000 all over again. If you 're-set' several times, that's fine, but then it's not starting with a $400 account, it's just having $400 in reserve each time your account blows out. Your actual capital base is in fact bigger, it's just that you're not depositing it into your brokerage account right away. If you want to wow everyone by showing that you can effectively gamble on a hot streak, I don't think most people will care. What would impress me is that someone was consistent, and an 80% drawdown in one day in my view doesn't fit with the picture of a consistent approach, unless you got caught on the wrong side of the flash crash.
Yes the 80% drawdown was terrible execution on my part. But expected when running 5lot ES & 5lot TF. Which is way too big of size for a 6k account. More importantly, I stuck to my strategy and when I my strategy confirmed I was wrong I reversed the trade. I am more than happy to talk trading and strategy with people. Painfully slow market this week and half of next week
I added 44k to my account so I can carry trades overnight. As of right now the balance is at 62k. With a peak of 69k, trying a swing trade until next week.
Doing 10lot. Full margin. Some of my trades require overnight to capture the move. So rather trade full margin
