Mikey, Thats an easy one. You already have most of the qualities to be an exceptional vendor/merchant. Convincing people that white is black, and black is white, is a skill that can make you a great deal of money. All you need to do is gain a degree of separation from your ego and you'll have it made.
Wow, I give you a compliment, and point out some observable valuable skill sets you poses, which by the way, are enviable skills, and you give me âhateâ in return? Your response is unfortunate in the extreme.
I am disappointed. With the amount of posts you have under your belt, I was under the impression that you were mightier than the rest of us. I feel like the day I was told that Santa does not exists and my gifts were the result of a combination of my parents' wit, master card and a brown truck with a UPS logo. I was under te impression that anybody with 5000 posts or higher would be a full time trader. You have destroyed my Christmas!
I haven't been trading as long, but I love it just as much as you do. Trading truly is one of a kind. I mean, where else can you work at home, make your own hrs, and bag profits so large in such small periods of time that would make even the best pro gamblers jealous?. We can take our job anywhere, be it across the street, or over seas. All we need is a cell phone or laptop. Anyone would be a fool not to jump at a dollar if given the chance, which is why trading is probably the most diverse career in the world. The soccer mom, Harvard grad, and cab driver are all out to get you. Your mission?...Seek and destroy. Our job is very similar to that of a sniper....find a target, wait for the opportunity.. take the shot. What other job can you think of where your primary goal is to take as much money from as many people as possible?.lol. So if you think about it...we, much like a sniper, destroy peoples lives. Someone is always willing to take the place of the fallen.
I parsed the part that was meaningful to me...thanks cash... taking the job anywhere is so awesome...
My dream is to take a very small account and build it into some real size. I have no financial problems, own my own home and make decent money. It is really not about making money for me. If I had a very large account to start with it would take all the fun out of it for me. Its like I got turned on to the greatest video game of all time and it never gets boring.
You are what I call a "real trader". You trade for the essence of trading. You are seeking efficiency and you welcome the challenge to improve. Many of us are just in it for the money...and I too am one of those...if being efficient is what it takes...ok...but money is the prize I am after. If I were younger, I would be more like a "real trader". but I got to get 5 million for retirement and stay focused on that. If someone would write me out a check for 5 million I would take it...it doesn't matter if I did it.. Michael B.
I am a full time trader and have been for 10 years. I never met anyone who makes a living out of his home as I do or trading full time with a prop shop or any other company for that matter. I have never talked on the phone with a full time trader either. Part of that may be due to the fact that I live 20 miles away from the high school I graduated from in a class of 27. But I do not live that far in the boonies my tv market is somewhere in the thirties. The only contact that I have with my professional colleagues so to speak, is through this forum. And on the internet , you do not get the opportunity that Dorothy got which was to pull back the curtain and meet the Wizard up close and personal.
