  1. thats very smart michael the reality is most guys on here trading for a living have either been doing it a long time or are very young and have small living expenses. i've seen very very few guys who mid life age 40 or so with a family and 7-10k expenses a month that can start from scratch and make it. its not wether one makes money trading that kills the dream its overcoming living expenses that kills most.

  2. No one is a loser, just some of our trades (our decisions) are. And Michael, it sounds like you've got >50% winners and considering that you are happily married, I'd say that your winners far outweigh your losers:)

  3. Come on now folks..I am getting all mushy..

Some traders in the 40's jumped out of windows in the great crash...I love trading, but I do not want to get depressed on a bad trading day and learn that.

ET is an awesome trading room for me, and I encourage many to come here.

Trading is a great challenge and can occupy much of your thoughts...it overtakes me at times and I end up not working that day.

I didn't mean to be inflammatory. Only disappointed to find out the idol I have been worshiping has a real job.

  7. I traded as a CTA full time....I have traded for 29 years on and off full time and part time as a broker and a private.

I have trade everything...and the fact that I am not full time and do not make my living or depend on it...should not detract you from reading my posts...

I do not really want to be anybodys guru and I am not selling anything.

finding out that I am human and my posting of it...simply means I am reaching out to drive into the next plateu...i am learning something intensively new and i need to get my mind set up...thats all...I approach trading from humility...

If you can share your experiences and thoughts...it is really not about me...i wanted to post a thread that would "grab you" and encourage you to identify and share..thats what I am looking for...I really love to read about other traders journies...

i am going to the gym now...and i hope to come back to this thread filled with stories...

    :)

  10. My boss says the same thing...Trading may be my downfall...lol.

to be honest this was my first 6 figure year...very low six figures...just barely made it...I have never made so much money in my life, but I have traded millions.
