  1. This is very embarrassing.

Top US diplomat fighting ISIS resigns in protest over Trump’s Syria move

Defense Secretary Jim Mattis is not the only top administration official resigning because of President Donald Trump’s decision with withdrawal U.S. troops from Syria.

Special Presidential Envoy for the Global Coalition to Counter ISIS Brett McGurk submitted his resignation, The New York Times reported Saturday.

The newspaper described him as “a seasoned diplomat considered by many to be the glue holding together the sprawling, American-led coalition” fighting the Islamic State.

“The recent decision by the president came as a shock and was a complete reversal of policy that was articulated to us,” McGurk told his colleagues in an email. “It left our coalition partners confused and our fighting partners bewildered.”

“I worked this week to help manage some of the fallout but — as many of you heard in my meetings and phone calls — I ultimately concluded that I could not carry out these new instructions and maintain my integrity,” he added.

  2. Successful middle class professional Saudis.

This is why they did it........ This does require some reading. Sorry.

Since Saudi Arabia houses the holiest sites in Islam (Mecca and Medina), many Muslims were upset at the permanent military presence. The continued presence of US troops after the Gulf War in Saudi Arabia was one of the stated motivations behind the September 11th attacks[24] and the Khobar Towers bombing. Further, the date chosen for the 1998 United States embassy bombings (August 7) was eight years to the day that American troops were sent to Saudi Arabia.[25] Bin Laden interpreted Muhammad as banning the "permanent presence of infidels in Arabia".[26]

In 1996, Bin Laden issued a fatwa calling for American troops to get out of Saudi Arabia. In the 1998 fatwa, Al-Qaeda wrote: "for over seven years the United States has been occupying the lands of Islam in the holiest of places, the Arabian Peninsula, plundering its riches, dictating to its rulers, humiliating its people, terrorizing its neighbors, and turning its bases in the Peninsula into a spearhead through which to fight the neighboring Muslim peoples."[21] In the December 1999 interview with Rahimullah Yusufzai, bin Laden said he felt that Americans were "too near to Mecca" and considered this a provocation to the entire Muslim world.[27]

You proved my point. You say bombing creates terrorists. It is bullshit. The facts are the facts, we have been at war with many countries and they didnt turn into terrorist states.

The fact of the matter is Obama was supposed to solve the terrorist problem in the Muslim world. He gave a speech in Cairo as one of his signature moments in first year. He pulled out of Iraq. The Arab Spring happened and at first Obama patted himself on the back saying it was move toward democracy. What was the Arab Spring in reality? It was Islamic extremist filling the void left by the weak Obama. Within a year ISIS controlled a large part of the Middle East, all while Obama was in full retreat. By your logic, there should have been less terrorists when Obama retreated, but there was more. Your premise is a lie.

I am really getting sick of you Al-Queda and ISIS apologists defending them and blaming the US for it.

What is embarrassing is you think diplomats fight. Diplomats by definition do not fight. Fighting is for the military. Dumbass.

We had weak men in our revolutionary war that liked to stay under the heel of tyrants. We called them loyalists.

brb, OMG, there's violence in revolution.

    1. Trusting a terrorist to give you his true reasons for his murders is like trusting a Politician to explain his or her true motivations... but worse.

    2. I am still waiting for our country to just once execute a war anywhere or an occupation in the middle east to the best of our abilities. If we are not there to win total victory we should not have our people on the ground.

    3. Nobody in Washington has done anything well since I have been alive. Obama and Clinton and Kerry and the CIA were responsible for 90 percent of Isis weapons. Nobody has detailed why we should be there. What are our goals and how can we achieve them.

As far as we know all we have been doing is arming "moderate" terrorists... Isis.

The Islamic State militant group (ISIS) got its hands on vast supplies of weapons by taking advantage of U.S. weapons transfers that may have violated international agreements between Washington and its allies, according to a new report.

As much as 90 percent of ISIS’s arms and ammunition were found to have originated in Russia, China and Eastern European states. The jihadis were able to obtain much of this arsenal as a result of former President Barack Obama’s support for rebels in Syria, U.K.-based Conflict Armament Research reported after analyzing 40,000 items recovered by its investigators along ISIS front lines between July 2014 and November 2017. By purchasing “large numbers” of European arms and ammunition and then diverting them to nonstate actors in Syria without notifying the sellers, the U.S. reportedly “violated the terms of sale and export agreed between weapon exporters...and recipients."

Related: U.S. made secret deal with ISIS to let thousands of fighters flee Raqqa to battle Assad in Syria, former ally says

“The United States and Saudi Arabia supplied most of this materiel without authorization, apparently to Syrian opposition forces. This diverted materiel, recovered from IS forces, comprises exclusively Warsaw Pact–caliber weapons and ammunition, purchased by the United States and Saudi Arabia from European Union (EU) member states in Eastern Europe,” the report found, using an alternative acronym for ISIS.

  9. Guess how many Muslims the US has killed through elective wars, economic sanctions and other projections of US imperialism. Basically stomping all over their political processes, starting before the Shah of Iran.

All because of oil and Israel.
