10% on 1RM? The blue hoody also is tight in the arms/shoulders and is work over the bench shirt or vest. I can do 315 for 4-5 w/o any aids.
I like the 4-5 range myself.I have a gym set up at home and have a second bench for an immediate drop set of maybe 40% less just to get some extra time under tension in. Keep it heavy but get in the extra reps. They say the muscle doesn't comprehend weights per se,just that its being taxed,so in that scenario it may be tricked into thinking thats its all at the heavier weight.haha.Just a theory.
I drop-set. I end up in the 12-13 to failure. I am way above where I should be for my size/expenditure fr a guy fucking around in a home gym 2-3X/week. Low rep doesn't allow for failure. Just IMO but I've been doing this for 35Y.
12 is some great TUT. I probably wind up at 9 usually with drop set. Might have to throw in a tri set for 3 more! haha
Is it the below sort of rack youre using? Curious why the near miss on the rerack scared you? I have similar and find the cross bars to keep me just out of danger.
It's a Base Camp so it has floor supports that extend in front.. I want to make sure that I can get a chest touch with straps but have an incline so it won't crush me. I can throw the weight forward when lifting w/o a spot. Scary bc I didn't have any energy to throw it and it's always weird to arbitrarily dump 400lbs.
