Who knows offhand which of the charting packages offers historical volatility (HV) and implied volatility (IV) as technical studies to plot on their charts? I know eSignal and Qcharts don't. I think Ensign and Investor RT might. what about others, Metastock, Omnitrader, Tradestation? Of course I can always go to ivolatility.com, but it's not the same. Any option guys here with a tip? Thanks.
I believe tradestation does: http://www.tradestation.com/strategy_testing/position_analysis.shtm I believe Esignal does not, but may do so in the near future. Ensign is dependent on the data feed, and of the datafeeds for Ensign that I'm aware of, none of them supply IV or HV. Is there a specialized real-time options data provider out there? Do any of the other options-specific platforms like optionsXpress or thinkorswim have APIs with data access (a la IB)?
Invesro RT has HV as an indicator and option specific packages or brokers would carry Iv. Here is a list. Use goggle for site names. thinkorswim optionstar optionvue microhedge optionmaster This should keep you busy for a while. goodlluck
