"The Bell Curve" - The average IQ of African Americans (who are a subset of Sub Saharan Africans) is 85. No example has ever been given that discredits this statement.

At the time "The Bell Curve" was written no reason was given for this finding. It was an observation based on a multitude of studies.

Now with a better understand of genetics, this difference in abilities of African Americans compared to any other group in the US can be established by differences in genetic endowments.

Many left Africa and encountered different environments. Sub Saharan Africans stayed in Africa. Over 10,000's of years, via random mutation and natural selection different groups genetically evolved.

All groups are good at some things but not others. Sub Saharan Africans have less evolved long range planning and cognitive skills.

Look at all/most countries in Sub Saharan Africa and compare them to the rest of the world. No were are living conditions worse than in some Sub Saharan African countries.

So maybe Math is racist, because Math is something that, on average, African Americans will never be good at.

TBC just compiled earlier studies. The science was established many decades earlier.

    Ditching standardized tests spells disaster

According to the National Education Association(NEA), standardized tests were originally designed as and “have been instruments of racism and a biased system.” The NEA bases this allegation upon observations of race-based disparities in test performance and the broader achievement gaps among different student groups, a notion that has been debunked by many including the National Society for the Advancement of Black Americans.

Unfortunately, going test-optional or test-blind would do nothing to alleviate observed disparities misconstrued as “racism.” Doing so will only sweep dust under the rug or bury one’s head in the sand, pretending no painful policy reforms are needed to cure any group-based discrepancies both educationally and culturally. This illogical line of reasoning, sadly, has been applied and propagated throughout the public education pipeline.

For instance, some low-performance urban school districts in California, including the Los Angeles Unified, have stooped so slow to ditch numeric measurement for high school graduation after failed reforms aimed at lowering the graduation standards to a meager 1.0 GPA in previous years. The 2022 California Mathematics Framework, which has acquired the moniker of “woke math” brazenly suggests that schools delay offering advanced math classes until 10th grade for the purposes of equalizing the playing field and re-centering BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) experiences.

These varied attacks on merit from college admissions to K-12 instruction underscore parents’ growing concern about the American education system. An honest soul-searching reveals that lowering or eliminating standards is not a proven effective tool to combat “systemic racism,” but rather a band-aid to conceal deeper problems. Educational bureaucrats and special interest groups, some well-intentioned reformers and other die-hard ideologues, are only proposing the structural demise of merit to cover up the collective, decades-long failures of the system to provide adequate education to all American school-aged children, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds. In the wake of colossal mishaps of non-education, those inside the education deep-state conveniently use SAT and ACT as scapegoats.

There is no "social justice" version of mathematics.

Math is a language that is absolutely objective. It is either correct or incorrect.

There is no subjectivity. There is no wokeness. It is the purest of all disciplines.

Abandoning the teaching of proper mathematics will simply leave the technocrats in charge of the world and you can see where they are getting us.

It will leave the cultural Marxists in charge, dumb down real achievement and make the US less competitive internationally.
