NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) Hummer is the third brand that GM is being forced to shut down as part of its bankruptcy reorganization last year. A deal to sell Saturn fell through and GM is also closing the Pontiac brand, which it never attempted to sell. _____________________________________

Why should GM worry about maximizing its assets. It has the full faith and credit of the US mint behind it.
Just close down half billion plus dollar brands. No worry, Papa Obama will make it up to you.

  3. Who would have thought that the market for mobile bungalows would dry up.

  4. Just another example of Gm's short-sighted management over the last two decades. When you can't compete, this is the result.

I have a GMC truck, but would certainly not buy another new one.

  5. They were only offered $150m for it. They spent more than that advertising it.

  6. Better than nothing I would have thought. Maybe they were afraid the chinese would make a big success of it.

  7. When you have a $3.5 Trillion dollar budget whats 150M??
