Humana Is Cheap

Discussion in 'Stocks' started by $CostAverageMAN, Nov 9, 2006.

  1. I try to wait for some type of bottom to be put in, but I find that they usually don't last very long when they are undervalued.....Since my holding periods are usually much longer than that of HUMANA, I usually experience the consolidation stage before the stock starts to break out either one way or the other....I enjoy buying in the middle of the move...Heck most of my positions started in the middle, but in a market like we have just had over the last few months finding great stocks that have gotten cheap are hard to find and don't last long....HUMANA (HUM)was one that I felt could bounce a few day back....CAMECO (CCJ)was also a recent purchase and I let it be known on ET..... Lyodell (LYO) today was mentioned as a buy.... Exelon Corp (EXC) on MONDAY as a beaten down utility over TXU....(INTU) Intuit today during our earlier rant cought my eye....

  3. I am mostly a position trader as well. We obviously have different styles.

More than 80 percent of the highest volume stocks have bullish charts. I go with the flow until the flow just isn't there anymore.

I have strategies to do what you are doing but I only use it in choppy markets.

    Good luck.

  4. My word I never thought of you $COST being a deep value man! This is the same $COST of oil sands fame?
Humana I think would be a great LT investment the 5 year chart looks fine! Normal pullback you could say. Theres a $10, 1 year trade to $62 I believe here. It's possible $COST and you may left that on the table in your eagerness to stay liquid in what's obviously about to befall us. With the overall market PE in the 17's you really shouldn't be having that much trouble finding reasonably priced stocks- the key I think is to look at the bottom line not the chart because several will be at their highs. One I've been scoping and hoping for a pullback is PWEI if you can believe the numbers they have a PE of 4 and EPS of $8.51 while being in the building supply business. Nice $30 to $35 channel overextended now at $37 in good market buy at top of channel $35 in correction hope for something closer to $32. And remember I gave you Spartech SEH! instead of GGC.

  6. My god $COST still playing BBC! You're amazing. What I love about your lists is the calculating grandness of it all... fertilizer stocks of course my good man ! why not? several! The whole sector in fact! Tractors, generators.... Airplane stocks, we need 6 of those...
Hospitals... Do we still like the hospitals? You mentioned a stealth bull move to me in the sector... sector wise it has been awful stealthy ranked 171 with a bullet but some names have been drifting up anyway, Community Health, Lifepoint? Do you still like? ~ stoney
