Before any Americans get too excited for the UK remember that most Brits regard you as nothing more than a "yank". The British and the French don't give a damn how conservative you are, you are nothing more than a "yank" to them. Don't believe me? Try traveling internationally and having a Frenchman or a Brit pull a knife on you in bar. We should stop trying to correlate our conservative tendencies to what happens in Europe. As an American, you are lower than pond scum to most Brits and French men. We should stop trying to correlate any populism or conservative victories in Europe to Trump....these events are totally unrelated. They cannot afford to live in Paris and so are forced to commute to their jobs over great distance and Macron just jacked up fuel taxes to ludicrous levels. Something must give. I lived in the UK for years, in London and in a couple of other places that were pretty rough on Saturday night and never saw a knife pulled on anyone. What the hell were you saying or did you do? Did they not "respect your authority"?
