Just shows how the bad bad U.S. is so cruel that it even attacked its own naval forces on its own territory. LOL

Obviously you don't know how USA works. The President of United States has the power to disseminate executive orders as part of his/her job to govern the country. It's not China's place to tell the USA what or what not to do. That's interference of a country's internal politics. If you didn't like it when the West "supposedly" did it, don't turn around to do the same to USA. Perhaps China has never heard of the saying: Do not do unto others what you do not want others to do unto you.

You don't like it that USA doesn't want to do business with Huawei, take your business elsewhere. There are several hundred other countries in the world. What's the big deal?

No, obviously YOU don't know how the US system works. Donnie is welcome to use as many executive orders as he wants, and the affected party is free to use our courts to put him in his place. The courts are also welcome to laugh at the plaintiffs case if they have no legitimate standing.

You must be Gen Y. LOL that has never experienced the quality of truly USA-made products. USA's products used to be the benchmark standard of excellence and durability just like German and Japan made products around the world. That "Made In the USA" tag with the stars & stripes background was not for decoration; that tag used to mean something. There was a time that whenever you have bought something that's got that tag sewed in, you know it would be high quality, sturdy and would last you at least 10+ years and could even be passed down to your children and grandchildren. It was not like today that everything you bought is all flimsy and cheap and everything is like you said "squeeze squeeze squeeze". USA-made products used to give both the manufacturers and the consumers of those products a sense of pride that they have made the best products in the world with their talent, hard work and dedication. People used to be able to brag to their friends and families that they bought something that's made in the USA and people trusted that Made-In-the-USA tag. This is not something that you see in the commercials. This truly happened at one point.

Everything all went downhill after USA opened itself to global trading where products are made at 1/10th of the cost and since it's so cheap, people don't care that they wear out after just a few months; they will just buy another one. And US companies that used to spend the resources and the investment to make long-lasting quality products just can't compete anymore. They either closed down or outsourced. Those that stayed in the USA and remained opened had to cut corners and compromise on quality and durability so they can stay competitive. Gradually everything that "Made In the USA" tag stood for just got lost. I don't agree with many policies of Trump but I do agree with his goal of "Make America Great Again". America does need to be made great again, urgently before everything else gets lost and we get taken over by values that we don't believe in.

This is not just economic revival anymore; this is survival.

  7. You don't need to concern yourself with the confidence untrustworthy trading partners have in your system. Spend all the time to work with trustworthy trading partners.

  8. I am 44 and if you read my post carefully you would have noticed that I pointed out several products made in USA of high quality and durability. I am sure there are some others. The majority was never high quality. Neither American cars nor services. The problem with most people on this site is that their sense of reality is either driven by their thing that sits between their legs or their feelings or political leanings. Fun fact for you and all others: the truth and facts don't care about feelings nor political orientation nor one's machismo. I say that because it's easy to be married to a sense of quality one got accustomed to in a single country. That does not mean such quality is or was high by international standards. In any case its pointless to argue how quality was 30 years ago. Fact is that the American consumer on average is way too poor to afford all products made in America. That was and is the single reason why consumers switched to made IN China products. Not because they had no other choice but because the price differential is immense. Even today one can buy a more expensive American toilet bowl or a cheaper imported one.

That's a broad brush to paint all our trading partners, who see the US in the wrong here, and with untrustworthy eyes; for latest see Mexico tariffs while NAFTA 2.0 is being ratified

  10. Well, you can dislike unconventional approaches till the end of life. Fact is that those unconventional ways work right now and that the US is making progress in its negotiations. Previous administrations got nothing done other than receive undeserved Nobel peace prices.

And I think you misread what America's most trusted partners think of its current approach. Europe is cheering America in its confrontation with China. Not because they hope Europe will emerge as a beneficiary but because they agree with America's stance on unfair trade. It's just that Europe does not have the will nor ability to equally let the hammer hit on the table.
