  2. Privateer - did you notice the fine print on the GRO Trader pages? They're not just comparable to CyberTrader - they're using CyberTrader from CyberCorp as their trading platform.

Any idea what the advantage is that they would offer then to just using CyberCorp?

  3. ArchAngel - are you still using Trade Prospector ? Any idea when the realtime Trade Prospector comes out ? I was impressed with the 30 day free trial. I'm contemplating using Trade Prospector as a trading tool combined with FreeTradez for executions.

  4. wireless - yeah, still using TP. Still the best I've come across (especially for the money).

Been on vacation and then of course had to pay for that time off by working my butt off catching up on things at my clients, so haven't been able to do more than a few trades lately. Hope to finally get caught up and back to more regular trading soon. Man, it's like it takes 1 1/2 days to catch up for every day I was on vacation.

I believe the realtime stuff is probably Q1 - I saw a note a while back about their working on a multi-datafeed integration layer because their original target datafeed (quote.com) was having so many problems and there were a lot of users now using stuff like Quicken Quotes, myTrack, and Realtick. It's a good idea. They only have to write the app to their integration layer and then let it accomodate the differences in datafeeds.

The RT stuff will be a big time saver, in the meantime, it's not much effort transferring the SR info from the existing software. Just takes a few minutes to update the alerts and move the boundary lines on my charts.

I skimmed all the posts on the TP board on Raging Bull that I missed while gone/busy and it looks like there's a lot of people who've been taking money from the market with the current version, even in this lousy market. Can't wait to get back to the trading screen myself.

Good luck. Let us know how the FreeTradez executions are.

  5. Thanks for the info ArchAngel. Trade Prospector, QCharts, and FreeTradez (if they offer quality executions) may be a winning combination.

  6. Hi Arch, nice to hear from you. Yes, I checked the demo, read the fine-prints and also the very comprehensive information about margin-rules and order-routing.
Did also some "demo-trades" in RT. Good tool for scalpers and those daytraders who like to have the advantages of ultra-fast execution through various ECN's.

Haven't found any significant advantages compared to Cyber.
Besides, their minimum is 25K and they don't offer options yet.

But I decided to stay with Interactive.
I am using TP's swing- and position-trading indicators / strategies in combination with the option tools.
I can apply these strategies with IB better than with GRO - and for much lower cost.

If I would have the need for accessing different ECN's instead of using "best execution" I could do it also with IB. But I have not wot worry about complicated margin-rules, especially concerning overnight-trades, as with GRO or Cyber.

So far, IB is the only direct-access-broker I know of, who is not subject to the rules applied for daytrading-firms.

Qcharts : indeed, had a lot of data-feed problems lately and switched back to QuickenQuotes Live. Although their software is not as good as qcharts, their quote-service is much more reliable. The latest QQL version 2.5 offers also L2 quotes, live Option quotes, a market-scanner and many more features I like. QQL offers now NASDAQ L2 quotes for only $ 9.-/month because they participate in this one year NASDAQ trial.

TP : This thing is getting better and better day by day.
Have setup my german trading website, featuring also TP ( german description )last month.

  8. Hi wirelessbull - you understand german ?

Qcharts : The only thing changing on this website is the date. The text about "Ongoing issues" has been displayed for weeks now. Wonder when they will get a grip at those problems. Other than that Qcharts would still be my favourite - but with their constant datafeed problems, using their top software is wasted money. I am not an expert on datafeed issues and I know, most other services have similar problems. But Quicken doesn't have them - so far, although using mainly the same source = S&P Comstock.
They should take 3MT as an example for customer service.

    regards
