  1. Hi ET99,

What do you mean "I made many mechanical mistakes today"? Do you trade a mechanical system? Sorry for my poor English.

I tried a mechanical system to trade SGXNK in 2006. It was profitable system. Because the risk was too high, I couldn't trust my system and interrupted my system too often. Eventually, I gave up.

By "Mechanical Error", I simply meant pressing the wrong keys, etc. Errors that are not relating to analysis.

Couldn't help to laugh with mixed feelings on that one..

That huge drop out right from the start of todays session had me shaking. I'm want to check out the evening session too, but I have to be up and at work when the market opens in the morning here in the US...

Fortunately I managed to savage the rest of the morning, and picked up 100pts towards the end.

I found HSI easier to read than ES. There is an order in every chaos, we are gifted with different sensitivities?

  5. Most Asian markets were surprisingly weak taking into account the last two days¡¦ rally of the US market. It is a very unusual situation.

HSI was the strongest one in the first hour of the morning session among the Asian markets. I entered long four times, two winning and two losing trades. The fourth trade was a winning one immediately after I bought it. I held it too long and finally got out with more than 100 points of lose. I then reversed my position and went short. My last trade worked.

    Trades:

good work, HSI Trader...... 1 suggestion, to make the thread more interesting, do you mind posting some rationales behind your trades (without revealing your edges, of course)

  8. It is too hard for me to describe why enter and exit my trades in English. I I'll post a chart instead following ET99's suggestion. ET99 has much better looking charts than I do.

One more trade for last Friday's PM session.
    2008-01-11 14:49:41,E (MAN),B (1),26848.0,0.0,102.0
    2008-01-11 14:55:17,X (MAN),S (1),26888.0,38.8,140.8

I overtraded today. My trades were totally a mess. I was up near 300 points, but gave back almost all my profit. It happened many times before. So I consider to modify my money management rule to address this issue.

  9. HSI trader,

Im in vic as well... dont trade the HSI to often because I already trade the US futures full time. Just curious on your experience with IB's HSI feed. I found the datafeed very laggy, and the slippage was massive. Do you not experience this at all?

  10. Hi apex82,

Gald to learn you are in vic as well.

IB datafeed seems ok to me (my account is on IB's HK server). HSI slippage or bid-ask spread is large, so I use stop limit order to get me out a bad trade. You can imagine, it doesn't always work.
