HPT, i'm obviously confused, so please straighten me out, but i did not think you could meet the CME margin requirement to trade 5 contracts with only 14K capitol. (Or has the ER2 moved from the CME already?) What is your margin requirement per contract?

I think it is a little dangerous to trade 5 with only 14K (well, more now). But i guess if you use very firm stops?? You are going all in as you say. Please be careful! And good luck. (You are trading with real money, right?)

hmmm ... there margin requirements have been fluctuating recentley with the VIX, so not entirely sure what it is currently, 2,625 according to globex intraday, i was bidding 6 but got turned down yesterday, bid 5 but only 4 filled, so stuck with 4 so i didnt have to fiddle with contract size, all-in kinda means i aint gonna average in or out. will be more fun with 10 lot soon.

stops are always in and are solid. - IB seems to hold MIT stops on their server, so if its moving I have sometimes been filled @ +11 or 12, really want them held at exchange level, but hey-ho.

Well for your own sake and well being please be very careful. It is a good idea never to have more than about 5-6% of your account at risk on any one trade, but i realize that with a small account you may not be able to do that. Nevertheless, i think it would be wise to trade 1 or 2 contracts until you build up your account. Slow and steady wins the race. Good trading and best of luck.

ok, So I dropped Lot Size, didnt do me much good though  , over traded like a mad man .. whoa now ! , broker did ok again though :)

    30 trades, -22 pips, 3 contracts
    3 trades, -21 pips, 4 contracts

    (-22 * 3 *10) - (2 * 30 *5.4)
    (-21 * 4 * 10) - (2 * 3 * 7.2)

    = -$2,228.8

Get a grip and back to old-skool trading tomorrow.

You might strongly consider turning those charts back on. ER2 was an easy trader thru 1pm est today... with 3 - 4 trades max

    <i>"broker did ok again though"</i>

When don't they? Definitely the least stressful side of our profession to be on :(

Hi, yeah , in retrospect, I see what you mean !.

I recall my mind slipping into trying to predict a direction as a bit of unfathomed confidence was sneaking in, as opposed to watching the price action, but hey-ho lesson learnt.

    good trading all :)

  9. Most shops offer $500-750 intraday margin requirements for er2.

Do you plan to continue with ER2 after they leave the CME after the June contract?
