i am guessing that more dirt will come out about Hurd and his entertainment habits. the board of directors may know something so they chose to fire Hurd on the spot instead of waiting for the slow and painful for HPQ news leaks, rumors, etc. i don't know if the board of directors has control of how much pay Hurd gets when fired.
