HP to cut 9,000 jobs!!!!!!

  1. Ahhh, to be young and naive again...

    No company that does business with the US govt -- which basically means, no S&P500-sized company -- will dare speak openly about the impact of the public-policy initiatives of the leftmost President in US history.

    It's not <i>decency</i>, it's fear of losing govvy contracts, and/or having to appear at show-trials in Washington in front of showboating Congressional microphone/camera-hogs.

  2. Exactly, American companies are full of excess baggage/driftwood. Microsoft and Cisco are two other notorious companies with a huge glut of non essential space wasting people who just attend meetings,and do power points etc..

    US companies are going to have to learn to be leaner to survive the new 21st century economy. No more 10 chiefs 1 indian ratios.

    Motorola was about 200K people in 2000 and now they are about 60K and they still have a lot of fat.
