HP - considering 2 women for top post ?

  1. I can't believe this stupid company. They just seem to go from one disaster to the next....all their own doing.
After the Fiorina mess, now they are considering either Carol Bartz (just fired from Yahoo) or Meg Whitman.
I'm just shaking my head...who runs that board ?

HP was once a fantastic engineering company; very much a male bastion. Then they brought in the "chicks" and the good engineers left. Now, look what's left....

Lockheed Martin also tried this....with pretty much the same result.....the good engineers left.

THIS JUST IN: HWP may be leaving the Dow Industrial index !!

  2. Would Whitman be bad? Wasn't her stint at eBay successful?

  3. Making bad decisions is gender neutral. Michael Armstrong led AT&T to buy TCI and MediaOne (cable companies) for over $100B, and less than two years later sold them to Comcast for $72B. That $28B loss dwarfs AT&T's eventual buyout by SBC for $17B a few years later.

  4. Those are BUY-OUT decisions. We're talking MANAGING-THE-COMPANY decisions.
    BIG DIFFERENCE

Whitman has experience with Disney, DreamWorks, Procter & Gamble and Hasbro. Her history says she can run a company.
