1. Its HIS journal. Relax. He obviously didnt open a Help thread. 2. Forget if you think it could be done differently or even better. The reason Id like him to keep going is because whatever it is he trying to do, he is being disciplined and applying the strategy consistently, making the results worth something. Forget back testing, he is doing it real time, win or lose I'd like to see the outcome of anything real world applied consistently. Even if we all know the eventual and certain disaster that will come along periodically. 3. Put up or shut up. If you have something constructive to add, then add it. If you do not have any or wish too reserve your ideas, then let the guy post. I dont get the demand for instant perfection these days, there is no such thing. Even if your computer brain has already calculated the 768 different potential outcomes, what the hell is wrong with just listening anymore? Also, i dont think my experience or anyone elses is worth alot in this business. People come along all the time and derail the old folk.
You're playing internet cop more than anyone here. HoCo stated he never had a test sample month <2% gain during 2008. That's a mother f^cking impossibility with this strategy. Then he states that some periods didn't meet his criteria. So yeah, blatant bullshit gets called out. If I f^ck up I want to hear about it. Everyone has something to learn, perhaps not from HoCo, but through debate that occurs on threads such as this. I sincerely try to "add liquidity" to this board. I'm not his risk-manager and you're not his father. If you have a problem with that you can respectfully GFY.
Hoco was just a lonely friendly old guy trying to start an education business( maybe inspired by woodie?) doing something he knows little about. He likely has moved on to greener pastures and ideas.
tough love does not know age. you can't be an internet cop to all the misguided and intentional guru's but it's not bad to save a few.
If you call 6000 posts liquidity then youve obviously lost any real opportunities in trading and should move on in life.
I consider all advice, even the apparently nonsensical. This from the guy who has devoted 25% of his post-count to defending HoCo from atticus. I've got a nice life, lots of kids, good job. Thanks for your concern.
Atticus please continue to post I'm learning a lot from every one of Your posts and to the people who defend HC I remember that this is a forum every one of us has the right to post his thoughts. At the moment You open a thread you know that there will be replies and if all the professionals of this forum tells You that what You are doing is not correct if You are a good trader you must be humble to analyze to ask and change Your strategy as soon as possible.I think HC isn't aware of the opportunity that Atticus is giving to him.Thank You Atticus for all Your posts.
Been reading Atty (risk) for years and years, and in this thread he's taken a bit of time to lay out some good stuff. And it's darn near understandable! To those that say we are ruining HoCo's thread by posting our opinions, isn't this what a "trader's board" is all about? Howie could simply start putting anybody he didn't want to see on ignore. Except for quoting, it would remove many of the posts he didn't want to deal with. I'd like to see how he did during the last market drop too. But for him to say he doesn't "have time to deal with the negativity...", just doesn't ring true. JMHO
