  1. If you exited without rolling, according to your rules, you lost about 25% of your account.

If you rolled half of your adjusts, and then exited them, according to plan, you lost about 40% of your account.

That's my best guess. And I bet you are still up money in the last 6 months, but the "correction" was mild by most standards. Not a black swan, more like a mini duck.

  3. Howard,

This seems to be a prime example of what I have been talking about. I congratulate you on your thread, commiserate with you about your recent losses, offer you sound advice and wish you good luck for the future.

And yet you respond in a highly intemperate fashion. This is, if I may say so Howard, is extremely ill-mannered. It also seems very odd coming from a man of your age and accomplishments. In fact, your short-tempered replies might well prompt many to believe that your losses are heavier than you claim, and this is what lies behind your rather brusque manner.

  5. I knew you would be the first to pass on putting up.

I find it hilarious that you will tell everyone how I have "blown out" with a small market move, and demur on giving a number to your speculation. Is blown out 1%, 5%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 50%, 80%, ... What?

This is my thread. Your remarks on my motives are risible.

  7. Howard, why this naked hostility and unpardonable rudeness to Atticus?

He is clearly a very knowledgeable poster and he has generously made excellent contributions to your thread, for which I for one am grateful. Why do you not feel the same way? Do not begrudge him his expertise Howard, for doubtless it was hard-earned.

Your ill-tempered ranting does you credit Howard, no credit at all.

  8. Intemperate? Ill-mannered? And here I thought English was my first language.

What is ill-mannered or intemperate about asking people who have little idea how I fared in this market move, but use horror-inducing characterizations to provide us with real numbers to understand what those characterizations mean in their vocabulary? What sound advice would you offer here?

What is well-mannered about hijacking this thread to talk about topics only tangential to its purpose?

  9. ahh, who cares on percentages...despite the fact you said you would post , then about face in mere minutes is a joke in itself.

the more important question for you to answer is ; do you now admit that your type of vol selling is doomed ? in any case i am sure you did not blow out , having done your types of trades before. howard, i sell vol too, but i "earned" month to date pretty darn well and it was those guys who picked on the old me who helped me see the "vol light", lol
