I just looked at the call/put Ivol. It must be a hard to borrow stock as it looks like the puts trade a a premium to the calls. Married put might not be better. You will have trouble exiting this trade too if you buy the call. Good luck.
The bid/ask on the options is irrelevant - what is important is the underlying. Where do you see FIZZ trading in April: $20.00? $30.00? $40.00? $50.00? $60.00? Now how does the ask look to you? $4.90 could be a bargain.
If you have the margin available its not impossible to get out without paying the spread. Go short and let them get assigned - provided you can get short at all (hopefully not hard to borrow, otherwise you'll have to risk a weekend gap on exp)
I normally dont buy/sell the stock bc i dont have the $30 mil necessary to open that sort of position.
I sent a email last Wed's night after receiving someone's SOS, you can see what type of stocks me and another friend trade(not the email recipient) will hold for days, weeks, months to a few years. I had several SOS emails from people who thought Margin was safe or sold lots of Naked Puts, here's the Email, it's very sloppy and maybe you can tell me what kind of stocks are my style. I get asked all the time "What kind of trader are you?" and honestly, I see stocks I follow that are strong and buy and get lucky on a few like "Kraft and IPc? There was no time to do the word check, was in a hurry because he's not someone who provides me with professional style research reports like a few friends on Elite do. " Sent: Wednesday, September 30, 2015 8:52 PM Subject: Stronger Stocks? Sorry you had a nasty week, we talked about trading smaller size at the beginning of September, remember? You said you recall the Asian Contagion. Did you really chase off JWs with a hose, they can be a nuisance but being the superstitious fool I am, that's asking for very Bad Luck in the Market. The Market can senses when were angry or depressed, if your attacking Watchtower and Awake peddlers, your taking out your rage on people who think their saving you from Armageddon! Is it true you were once a leader of their church, if so that might explain your rage but won't help you make money. Stocks that are bucking the trend are: CUBE, EXR, NSA and PSA,(Cove of safety) When the Market was falling "LABL" held out and soon broke out! Their a very interesting stock making labels for various products, its one of those stocks I have followed it from single digits(about 10 years ago?) up now, it might hit $80 by Oct Ex. Foot Locker was flying off the hook Friday after Nike released its earnings,, FL should have a great Quarter because they execute well. If FL and NKE are doing great, maybe we need to watch UA very carefully because its growing so fast but the Market is not rewarding anyone, everyone's guilty until proven innocent so please reduce our size and buy longer dated options on stocks you feel are safe. These ideas are what I own, we've talked about Taco Bell after August 24th, I've followed YUM since PEP spun them off, YUM is not reflecting some China Meltdown. When YUM had bad press about their meat suppliers their stock fell to $66 plus their growth fell after getting Wall Street's approval after slumping SSS. If things were as bad as the gurus say, YUM and MCD are the "canaries in the coal mine", so far their doing ok. YUM learned that if their not upfront with the Street, they get double spanked! Taco Bell, are the Chinese really changing lactose intolerance in less than twenty years, that's what my swimming friend who returned to Hong Kong said the new generation eating cheese though its their KFC and Pizza segment making the real growth. FLO "Bread, Tortillas ect" Flower's Industry. PBY Pep Boys is heading toward's its 52 week high. FIZZ great company with a crazy CEO, I own it and recommend you buy the stock if it pulls below $29.00 COT Cot Beverage They are the biggest Private Label soda maker, if Americans are drinking less soda why COKE, CCE, COT and FIZZ doing so well? Personally add to COT if you can buy below $10.70. I think the sell off in biotech is overdone, the biotechs that would allow me to let granny buy are ENDP, LLY, MYL an PFE, their very cheap now! We took on a nice chunk of AGN, ENDP, , did not think your risk allowed AGN or Compared to AGN and VRX, LLY hit $79.8 as its low. I wonder if their the best candidate with all the good drugs. BMY and MYL, APRIL $40 Calls? for MYL and late 2016 Calls for MYL. EEFT, CBOE, CME, ICE, NDAQ make cash on their Exchanges, even little OTCM has done well. CBOE is heading toward's its All-Time High and EEFT blew past it today. CBOE and EEFT are the strongest, keep a close eye? Carl Ihchan blasted ETF opperate Black Rock on his video, why are the Exchanges going up while BLK, WETF, BEN, TROW, JNS, IVZ are heading down?
That's a sloppy email, as for FIZZ read through their earnings release in September and look at their products. The retailers who sell FIZZ products are discounters, even with discounters they are growing when soda is on the decline. FIZZ has creative people making fun products, "chemical engineers". Does anyone here remember "Clearly Canadian" and their stock and story?
Yes ...... I'm from Vancouver and Clearly Canadian was big 15 years ago - and then they were gone as fast as they came. They had a very novel idea - clear drinks for all flavors. I didn't follow the stock though.
OTM, I was a buyer for one of the bigger retailers and we could not get enough product. They were awesome, we sold everything we got and CC restricted shipments to all the retailers, I had to call the stores and say "Hey, your restricted on only One Pallet containing all their flavors." They had a once and a lifetime chance to sell a gazillion pallets and they were constantly telling all the retailers "We are so sorry, did not know our product was successful." Supply and Demand was easy for us to see, we had the storage capacity to hold truck loads of it. The channel of command in scenarios like this, people don't realize how little the CEOs of big chains do in Retail other than collect fat over-sized checks. It's funny when other Stores (Albertsons, Safeway, Lucky's, Vons) are coming to our chain and paying retail prices just to put it on their shelves. I think that was one of the best buys of a large magnitude from CC, this was when Retailers were not afraid to buy massive amounts of product and allow it to sit, all those truckloads of CC did not sit, the competition ended up buying as much as we could sell. CEOs were first starting to mentally masturbate with JIT, when they saw how much CC we got, at first the fool freaked out until we blew through all that CC in half the time I planned. CC was one of the most weirdest products, we gave up on them because they could not get us enough product after setting aside space. Rice Cakes and CC, two products that when they finally got enough manufacturing capacity to fill orders the Trend moved on.
Robert, interesting about CC and Securities Fraud, bring's back memories of fun fades. Thank's for that link, for me that's good bed time reading, thank's for being so cool Robert!
