How would infrastructure spending benefit the working class?

  1. Aaaannnnnddd you just answered the question of WHY it will never be done.

Infrastructure projects are SUPPOSED to be a public money investment into the PUBLIC'S future benefit. Short term profit is not of as much importance as the long term gain for the society at large. The problem is that we (the public) have allowed our politicians to trade these publicly funded "investments" as favors to their special interests who are ONLY interested in .... PROFITS.

Normally, a public investment would have a long term payoff/return to the public at large. When there are private interests taking all the profit out of the initial investment, the whole projects return has already been realized as a short term PRIVATE profit that has resulted in the lack of fully needed initial investment to make it work for a long term public return. We see this occur time after time with MASSIVE cost over runs/reduced services or BOTH.

I'm not saying this in a socialist way or that there should not be a free market that tenders to facilitate government projects. Its just when there is rampant corruption, pay-to-play and special interests (BOTH parties) all at the trough of the public purse, we don't have "free markets" or value for tax payers money. Our real problem is that we already have a SOCIALIST system but its not socialism for the people, rather corporate and special interest socialism.

No, I agree. It is just backwards. The government has become so incompetent that we no longer trust it with it's vital functions. Everything it does is just a favor to repay a bribe. If you want something done right don't let the government touch it. Don't believe me? Just look at our schools. Walmart has a more efficient disaster relief system than FIMA. And if they can figure out a way to make a profit from it they will create more disasters. Got a water leak? Call walmart. They will send you a case of water and send the bill to FIMA. For a government that can't seem to understand capitalism they sure have perfected it.

  3. Copper - I don't understand why anyone would still even consider it as a solution. If they are already doing the work, why not at least put in fiber.

Fiber - Has some merits as its reasonably future proof and its speed is currently limited by the infrastructure tech at the exchanges. So once installed it should form a stable foundation into the future that is up-gradable as new advances are made. Ultimately limited by the speed of light.

WiFi/Balloons/Satellites - Will be the future but I have to wonder what sort of ping times they will be able to realistically get down to. For things like trading, it would be a limitation depending on what you require. Current Satellite ping times are disheartening going on what a lot of gamers say that have to use them.

  5. imo, security on water supply, security on protecting environment, security on food supply, security on medical treatments, security on transportation, etc. are good infrastructure projects that a responsible government should sped money as rational investments.

This kind of projects hardly make much profit, if any!

  6. Absolutely agree. That was his master plan right from the beginning. The only thing Trump cares about is Trump. He doesn't care about the U.S.

Is this still the fact channel? Or have we switched over to the opinion network? Sometimes I can't tell because they both have the same sponsors.

Trump doesn't travel on roads. He flys. Re-building the roads doesn't benefit him. LOL.

It's an American thing, you are simply talking amongst yourselves. Same mistake the democrats made. Before you can communicate with the other side you need the Your language to Our language dictionary. Same words, different meaning. You are trying to reason with us about something we are not even talking about. Carry on if it makes you feel better. As a matter of fact, first understanding how we feel might make you understand why your reasoning has become meaningless.
