Actually, I think you need to read the whole passage and a sentence or two more. You missed the ending and most important part of the message.... all you got is the jem is no better than the atheist part.

The important part of almost all of Jesus's teachings is the "follow me part" or the "it is impossible for man" but with God's grace part. Which usually shows up a sentence after the passage quoted by the christian hustler or the atheist.

The faith that matters is God's faithfulness to his promises. The fact you can rely on Him. A christian's power of faith is irrelevant. sure our behavior should lead others to want to know God. But its not about me its about God. You and many christian preachers incorrectly think the power of man's faith matters.

Its God's faith that matters... we just have to act like we believe God will honor the promises he made to us. or more simply we should show humility in front of God and obey.

I like that FT. :D That's about right. I've seen or heard it before but still, it deserves merit.
    Good one, FT...
To answer the question...He didn't. That doesn't however, take away from His omnipotence.
This explanation of my answer goes way back before Hitler.
Since the beginning God has let man choose. His plan has always been for us to love/follow Him because we wanted to.
Same for you or me if we have children or...even friends. We want them to love us out of their own heart felt desire and not any other way. In other words, He isn't going to "make" us love Him or do His will.
He also knew man would make choices in line with His will as well as against. He knew, because of our choices, we would be in a "fallen/sinful" state. Enter God's plan to redeem us from our "sinful state".
All we have to do is turn away from that state/condition and turn to the Lord. Because of stubborn pride, our unwillingness to put away a sinful lifestyle, or just plain old selfish desire we choose not to do that.
That what Hitler's problem was. God could have made him change his mind but, that would mean taking away Hitler's choice to do God's will out of love. That's the way it is for all of us. God would constantly have to be taking away our choices in order to make us do His will. "All men sin and fall short of God's glory."(Romans 3:23)
Instead of making us do His will, He has another plan - take a step of faith and turn our life over to Him...to honestly and whole heartedly try our best to be like Him. That's it. If we genuinely do that, then He promises to be there to help us live a more "Christ-like" life.
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is a gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast.' (Ephesians 2:8,9) In other words: we are saved from God's judgement through our faith in Him. That faith is a gift from Him that we either accept or reject.
Now, another angle to the question about Hitler...if you say that you don't believe in God then that brings on more talk. Remember, you have a choice.
If you don't believe in a Creator/God, what you have left is natural selection and survival of the fittest and all that. If that is the case...Hitler was just doing what comes natural to the species and eliminating what he thought was the weakest of the kind. That is one reason why he said he wanted to exterminate the Jews. Just look up some of his quotes about the Jews. RC

  5. so, your god would rather let a madman murder millions of innocent people than use power you claim he has to prevent evil? are you sure he is a loving god or a madman who likes to watch as people were murdered back then and are raped by his priests now?

it sure is amusing watching you bible thumpers rationalize away your gods inaction in the face of evil. moreso since your god promised to protect those people.

for once use your ability to think. lets say there was a terrible disease coming to america that would kill millions. i have the only vaccine but i refuse to use it for whatever reason. what kind of being would i be. should i be admired or scorned?

  6. really? this isnt sunday school where you can just make shit up. you will be called on it.

"My feelings as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter. It points me to the man who once in loneliness, surrounded by a few followers, recognized these Jews for what they were and summoned men to fight against them and who, God’s truth! was greatest not as a sufferer but as a fighter. In boundless love as a Christian and as a man I read through the passage which tells us how the Lord at last rose in His might and seized the scourge to drive out of the Temple the brood of vipers and adders. How terrific was His fight for the world against the Jewish poison. Adolf Hitler

Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord.” –Adolf Hitler (Mein Kampf)

    Hitler’s involvement with the Church:

    a) Hitler was baptized as Roman Catholic during infancy in Austria.

    b) As Hitler approached boyhood he attended a monastery school. (On his way to school young Adolf daily observed a stone arch which was carved with the monastery’s coat of arms bearing a swastika.)

    c) Hitler was a communicant and an altar boy in the Catholic Church.

    d) As a young man he was confirmed as a “soldier of Christ.” His most ardent goal at the time was to become a priest. Hitler writes of his love for the church and clergy: “I had excellent opportunity to intoxicate myself with the solemn splendor of the brilliant church festivals. As was only natural, the abbot seemed to me, as the village priest had once seemed to my father, the highest and most desirable ideal.” -Adolf Hitler (Mein Kampf)

    e) Hitler was NEVER excommunicated nor condemned by his church. Matter of fact the Church felt he was JUST and “avenging for God” in attacking the Jews for they deemed the Semites the killers of Jesus.

    f) Hitler, Franco and Mussolini were given VETO power over whom the pope could appoint as a bishop in Germany, Spain and Italy. In turn they surtaxed the Catholics and gave the money to the Vatican. Hitler wrote a speech in which he talks about this alliance, this is an excerpt: “The fact that the Vatican is concluding a treaty with the new Germany means the acknowledgement of the National Socialist state by the Catholic Church. This treaty shows the whole world clearly and unequivocally that the assertion that National Socialism [Nazism] is hostile to religion is a lie.” Adolf Hitler, 22 July 1933, writing to the Nazi Party

    g) Hitler worked CLOSELY with Pope Pius in converting Germanic society and supporting the church. The Church absorbed Nazi ideals and preached them as part of their sermons in turn Hitler placed Catholic teachings in public education. This photo depicts Hitler with Archbishop Cesare Orsenigo, the papal nuncio in Berlin. It was taken On April 20, 1939, when Orsenigo celebrated Hitler’s birthday. The celebrations were initiated by Pacelli (Pope Pius XII) and became a tradition.

Each April 20, Cardinal Bertram of Berlin was to send “warmest congratulations to the Fuhrer in the name of the bishops and the dioceses in Germany with “fervent prayers which the Catholics of Germany are sending to heaven on their altars.” (If you would like to know more about the secret dealings of Hitler and the Pope I recommend you get a book titled: Hitler’s Pope: The Secret History of Pius XII, by John Cornwell)

    h) Due to Hitler’s involvement with the Church he began enacting doctrines of the Church as law. He outlawed all abortion, raged a death war on all homosexuals, and demanded corporal punishment in schools and home.

Let me make it a little more simple then...Since the Lord is fair and just, He would have to take all mankind's free choice away to keep us from making the wrong choices concerning His will. That means we would be no more than puppets, robots, etc...programmed to love Him and to do His will you might say. That's not love.
Instead...we can choose to accept His free gift of the plan of salvation through Jesus Christ. We can choose to repent. We can choose to live for Him or not. If Hitler had chosen to truly accept Christ, and was really concerned about being Christ-like, then his attempted extermination of the Jews would be a non-event.
Making Jesus the Lord of your life...that is God's plan to prevent evil...some men accept it, some reject it. You claim to be an atheist. That is your choice. Whether you believe in Jesus Christ or not, do you think if Hitler or mankind in general, truly put forth an effort to live out the example of Christ, the world be better off or worse off?

For once use your ability to think, FT. I'll use your little example above.
    The disease is sin.
The vaccine is God's plan of salvation through Jesus Christ.
It is a free gift. Some just refuse to take it.

  8. Quote from Brass:

Orientation is something you're born with. Religous intolerance is born of ignorance. And it's not "hatred of those who believe in God." It is just intolerance of the intolerance and stupidity. There's a difference.

The fact that you would call Brass's statement, which is exactly and totally true, horseshit, is just further proof of what an idiot you are.

  9. 1. You are obviously a hopelessly ignorant person who ignores facts that don't agree with your dogma. I presented facts about the physiological differences between gays and straights and a personal story of my brother but you still persist with your stupidity

    2. No we don't, no it usually doesn't, and it's very rare when it does.

    3. Jesus was tolerant and understanding. What has happened to his modern-day followers?

So what. Is all that supposed to mean something to me? Appears to me you picked through a few of his quotes that try to associate him with working in and with the Catholic Church.
Practicing a religion, if your heart is not right with the Lord, isn't going to get you anywhere. Don't care which one it is. Most religions are so far out in left field that it's gonna be a "Bad Day At Black Rock"(old western flick) when we stand before the Lord.
I don't know what Hitler's intentions were when he was younger but one thing is for sure, he got off track somewhere down the line.
Anyways...what's the point you are trying get at with the above post?
