Lol...I don't plan to trade his methods...just curious now...from all the spirited discussion about him. If I find something I can incorporate into my methods, I'll post about it. If it's really simple, maybe I'll code it into an algo (when I'm bored) and see how it does. Not sure when I'll get around to watching it though.
i have read his books and seen plenty of his videos including his video course ...he does bring a fresh new perspective to the way you can look at the market, which of course has not changed, and i found it really helped me.....
i do not think his methods can be put in a algo....but it is worth having a look at him because of the totally new way of looking at market action. i had studied TA for 20 years when i came across him and i was fascinated...took a decade before i could start making money using his way of thinking...it is a way of thinking more than if A +d and d=r then b=r sort of thing
Good lord. So no "claim to fame" either it seems, googling and not seeing anything. Somewhere in this thread something is mentioned about him having something live where you can watch him actually trade and/or actually comment on market action. Can anyone chime in if they have done this with their thoughts? Thanks!
Saying that is like telling an artist that you don't think s/he can draw something. But I think I know what you mean: You mean that everyone will interpret his methods differently, so whatever algo I come up with; it won't be representative of Al's methods per se...only a representation of my interpretation/implementation of Al's methods. How'd I do?
he does have a chat room where he comments on market action but i do not think he makes live trades in there. but he is not like elliot with a whole new system.. but a lot of little things which did help me make better trades
Okay, so his acolytes are all killing it, making money hand over fist. But Dear Leader, himself, cannot even call a trade in his subscription service live trading chat room that costs $99 a month. All he can offer is color commentary and equivocation. (You think maybe he doesn't understand the material well enough to make live calls in his live trading chat room?) What's wrong with this picture? Meanwhile, all of the potential initiates who can't make heads or tails of his overpriced pretzel book are encouraged to spend even more money and time on a 36-hour+ course (36+ hours!) that invariably showcases beautifully trending days where even a novice would have to go out of his way to lose money. (I looked at parts of the videos posted earlier in this thread. Every chart I saw qualified as trader porn.) And so, I ask again: What's wrong with this picture?
