    Wanna talk fair?
How 'bout EVERYBODY contributes to the welfare of the USA while all are paying the same rate of taxation???

    What a novel idea.

A "same rate" of taxation would hit the rich harder, so it's unfair.

What's unfair about allowing a citizen to decide how much taxes he wants to pay???

Not sure why you're emphasizing "citizen". Anyway, we already have a choice now over how much tax we want to pay--choose to earn less (or more).

    That's nice.

Fact is, under fairtax the wealthy would have to pay more in tax than the non-wealthy unless they "choose" to spend less--which defeats one of the big attractions to being wealthy.

It's about equal rates and everyone contributing.
I'm not worried about rich folks going broke because of equal rates in taxation.

THIS is your "argument" against a fair tax?

Neither am I, the rich are not going broke now under the present system. Why not just propose a head-tax?

You're conveniently ignoring that, under a fair tax everyone keeps their income. So in total tax, the Rich would not be paying more.
