Thanks! What kind of spread do they quote you on EUR/USD? Does anyone know the minimums on Deutsche, Citi or Bank of America?
One to two pips; 20mil up. I don't know about the banks mentioned, but Commerce Bank caters to individuals in FX with reasonable minimums.
I'll put in a plug for Interactive Brokers FX where a number of banks are providing quotes (including some of the ones mentioned previously in this thread). Spreads are tight (ie. Euro/USD is often 1 pip)
hi def ... I have seen tight spread overnight but unless the banks have autorefresh on ( and in many cases they do or seem to move back and forth 1 pip ) I see IB having larger than 1-2 pips for USD / EUR for size shown on the NBBO for 2 levels that I see as a retail customer for up to 30 MILLION per side looks like 3-4 pips (?) thats still probably about as good as retail will get considering the broker (IB ) allows futures FX that are also approx 4 ticks for size 100-300 (?) I will have to look at my TWS screen sunday night oh and I forgot that I can split the spread or join the NBBO for my size if I choose at any time
they do have autorefresh on. if you took at the size it would most likely be replaced at the same price. then again, I highly doubt anyone here is going to be trading 30 million at a clip, if so, contact me and I'm sure we can arrange for larger size.
Def, Can I do a carry trade using the IB FX platform, ie short JPY and buy T-bond futures with the proceeds?
Pretty green in regards to interbanks. Who does this? How do people do this? What makes it so great? Just curious -Adam
