I trade commodities, but I'm just puzzled as to how gold is traded. Precious metals are considered wealth safe heaven. It should have negative correlation vs stock index and the general condition of the economy and stock market. But from what I've seen, often time, gold is positively correlated to stock market. And most of the markets, energy, stock and gold all move together. This does not make sense. I guess gold has lost its appeal as a wealth safe heaven, but just another tradable commodity. So what do you buy gold for? To hedge jewelery production??
