How to short the S&P using options? Day & swing puts

I trade micro-futures. I'm only looking into options to see if a better understanding of them might help me in my future's trading.

 

Seriously? Wow. Can't take anything for granted. Wish I had had a way of watching that. It would probably have been a good learning experience.

 

Opening and closing vol was a scratch due to the late rally. Market ended where it opened the day sesh.

 

Paper trade - I didn't trade it but the numbers are:

• SPY 434 Put at open $1.30.
• At 3:30pm EST $3.00.

 

Then it worked?

 

Yes ..... If it was traded it would have been profitable.

 

But getting out 30 min before the close would've been cool?
