Github is open source meaning you can see the code. I believe that if it was malicious then it would be known. But I agree with you.
I think he meant in general, because you wrote that hackers wouldn’t be able to transfer money from your account to their own bank. So he provided an example of how else hackers could drain it. The code on Github should be safe because/if it’s widely used, and because you can see the code and could just as well use it as an example to write your own.
Yes, he can trade for you and take the other side himself. Effectively use your account to front-run small cap stuff. Or just decimate your account. We live in an era of shifting personal responsibility away from yourself.
