How to know trend or chop in REAL time

Discussion in 'Trading' started by galvinlee888, May 9, 2015.

  1. You're new around here! What you are asking for is dangerously close to a realtime call.
Most wont risk doing such a thing.
    Regards.

According to my plan, I wouldn't enter at all as it's far too late. I'd wait for the trend to break then either take the reversal if provided with that opportunity or bracket trades on either side of the range if the reversal op is not offered.

If you want to know how all this works out in foresight, there are a month's worth of foresight charts at the beginning of the Foresight Thread. Foresight will benefit you more than "real time" as you will already have made all your trading decisions ahead of time.

    1) The chart you posted is barely viewable.

    2) You've intentionally removed all the important information (e.g. name of trading instrument, X/Y axis data)

    3) In another thread you were very specific in that you're interested in trading without charts.

Simply, if someone sat at a screen viewing that exact chart you posted...they shouldn't be trading.

P.S. I'm now able to view the chart as blowup. Too bad you removed the info I mentioned above. If you want to know if there "were" trade opportunities as in hindsight...of course there were. Anyone can answer that via hindsight analysis. If you want to know should you take a specific trade on Monday...that's a silly game to play and you'll probably be more interested in any of the several current threads here at Elitetrader.com where folks are making live calls involving whatever trading instrument that you're asking about for the chart.

  5. If he'd had left that info on there, the gurus would run to their platforms, find the day in question, look at what happened next, and then come back to tell us what trades they would take next! :)

It looks like you saw something I didn't see.

Instead, I saw a chart with missing information as if the last data set on the right side is Friday. Thus, he wants someone to say what's next for Monday. In contrast, it seems like you've implied that the chart doesn't represent Friday. Instead, it represents some unknown data in the past in which the data after the last shown data set has already occurred.

Regardless, we do have existing live call threads here at Elitetrader.com and I'm sure he can post his chart in one of those threads to get answers from the gurus. They'll be more happy to give him a trade recommendation. :D

P.S. In another thread he said he's been trading FDAX futures and said he's going to switch to Forex currencies. Also, there are popular social media locations that traders post live calls every day about the Eurex FDAX futures and forex currencies...all free if one is interested in that type of stuff (e.g. Stocktwits.com). Free live call demonstrations from the gurus.

  7. Exactly (though I could be wrong)
There was an interesting thread like that some years ago on trade2win forum. Certainly showed how when it comes to it, the gurus weren't able to beat the coin toss. But they were fantastic when they were able to pick out trades for the day once the price had stopped moving ;)

Yes it was an old chart. Euro. A few weeks back ; Anyway, lets leave it for now. I just thought it might be interesting, but i'm detecting a hostile undertone, and I didn't want to start anything negative.

Apparently they were without trading plans. Which is hardly unusual.

Depends on whether you're reading trader posts or troll posts. At least this sort of question helps to distinguish between those who have trading plans and those who don't (though I can vouch for wrb; I suspect he just gets tired of these kinds of questions).
