Judaism is a religion, which when practiced according to the laws of Moses produces a good human being, a God fearing human being. In the 1980s, the United States Supreme Court ruled that Jews are a race, at least for purposes of certain anti-discrimination laws. Their reasoning: at the time these laws were passed, people routinely spoke of the "Jewish race" or the "Italian race" as well as the "Negro race," so that is what the legislators intended to protect. http://www.jewfaq.org/judaism.htm However, some Jews are black, Chinese, Norwegian, etc. It would have made much more sense then, and today to declare make an argument against discrimination of Semites. Semites might be considered a race, as religion or culture have no determinate influence as to whether someone was born a Semite, just as the other categories of race...white, black, etc. have nothing to do with culture or religion, but with genetics. Today we have many jews who are atheistic or agnostic, but still refer to themselves as "Jewish." Their behavior as agnostics often is in clear violation of the law of Moses and the religious aspect of Judaism. Consequently, calling themselves jews while engaged in behavior that is illegal or against the laws of Judaism...helps to propagate more Anti Semitism. The good Jews are punished for the bad behavior of the atheistic in name only jews. So here is a solution: Change the law to replace the "race of jews" to the "race of Semites." This provides full protection legally to anyone of a Semitic origin, just like blacks, or any other minority group. Return the word Jew to its proper classification, i.e. a member of the Jewish religion. So we have Jews...those who are members of the Jewish religion, Judaism... and we have the racial classification of Semites...who have no necessary relationship to Judaism and may even stand in opposition to Judaism. Just like a black or white can practice any religion or non religion, so can a Semite. Those Semites who ignore the Jewish religion...they are atheistic Semites. Two terms, atheistic Semites and Jews. Jews then refers only to the religious aspect, and not the genetic aspect. The good Jews, the truly religious Jewish people need to fight to make it clear to the people of the world that they are not the same in their thinking as those who are atheistic jews.
