  2. I normally yield to your wisdom in these matters, but I have to disagree here. I used to do ATG squats for years because that was how an old Weider book, along with others, illustrated that the squat be done. About 5 or so years ago, someone who clearly looked like he knew what he was doing suggested that I only go to 90 degrees, that I not have my heels resting on 10-pound plates, and that my knees do not go forward beyond the tip of my toes at 90 degrees. (It requires that the torso lean slightly forward along with an arched back to maintain proper balance.) It was offputting to be told this, because of what I had previously read in a number of different books, but I humored the guy. I tried it for a few workouts until I got it just right. As a result, I felt far more oomph in the quads and no strain at all on the knees.

In any event, I no longer do squats. I still do my workout with as heavy weights as I can muster. However, I figured a couple of years ago that, if I am ever going to sustain an injury while pushing as much weight as possible as I get older, it will probably occur while doing squats. And so, leg presses are my principal quad exercise as of a couple of years ago. (I round out the upper leg workout with leg extensions and hamstring curls. I realize it's not a competitive bodybuilding routine, but I'm hitting 50 this August and I'm only a weekend warrior.)

Probably don't want the relaxing/calming effect of endorphins - testosterone levels are adjusted more slowoly than that if I remeber correctly.

If you work out hard you are releasing adrenaline which will keep you awake. From memory it hangs around in the blood for 30mins while the calming relaxing endorphins stay around for an hour or more if I remeber correctly. Maybe if you try finishing working out 45 minutes before bed, or not so intensely as to release adrenaline?

  8. I don't think that's workable for me. I avoid solid food at least 4 hours before working out, and only have green tea between my lunch and workout. I then go all out. Really. So, when I get back, I have my supper. Having supper minutes before going to bed is not a winning combo.

  9. it has to be good quality, not just any tribulus you buy at the store. tribestan has worked for me the past decade. i can notice a 5 pound increase while losing an inch on my waist.

tribestan, creatine and protein powders are the only natural supplements worth buying

  10. how much could bisphenol A exposure be affecting general US male testosterone levels?

anyone else see a potential causation between the proliferation of BPA in our food and plastics, the multi-decade trend in declining testosterone levels, as well as trends in early puberty?

the FDA allows levels well above what's been shown to cause very serious health effects in numerous studies
