does anyone know of a site that gives mutual fund cash positions? thanks in advance. (I am wondering how much dry powder they have left.)
The latest reading for September is 5.1% in cash reserves. This is the money they have to "buy" stock. In 1990, the cash was at a high of 12.9%, and in March 2000 (the top of the market), cash reserves hit a low of 4.0%. The current reading is much too low for a long sustained multi-year bull market. So, you will need to play oversold conditions for short term profits and then retreat. It's a trading environment for the next several years.....IMHO. The data is obtained from IBD newspaper.
