Problem with Tradovate is that they have high margins when volatility goes up. Going to them would cut my leverage in half, so 50% less profit to save a little bit in commissions. You should see the whole picture, not just commission.

Is it not 0.72 per trade, so 1.44 per RT?

NFA 0.22 + Routing 0.15 + Commission 0.35 per side, not per RT.

Depending on your broker you may have to sign a contract in which is specified what volume you will do at what commission. If you don't reach that volume you will however have to pay the agreed commission on the agreed volume.

Example: agreed 1,000 ctrs a month at 0.20. You will pay minimum $200 per month. Even if you have traded only 100 ctrs.

    Two comments:
    1. Hopefully at one point you can "graduate towards the ES" where the transaction costs are much smaller fraction compare to tick size vs the MES.
    2. Try us @ Cannon Trading or PM me and get a commission quote based on the platform you are looking to use, volume etc. - we can compete with anyone out there as an Independent Introducing Broker. Probably the best set up for the client now days as we clear 6 diff. FCMs and can find the best one per your specific needs.

I was looking at leasing an IOM seat to reduce my commissions and CME has the historical purchase prices for these seats back to 1990. Right now the seats are worth $30K, but back in 2008, it was over $500K. in 1990, the price was around $100K. Same with CME seats which was $1.5M in 2008, and now only $400K. these prices fluctuate a lot. Does anyone know why?

  10. You can get cheaper commission from the brokers who charge less commission. Research different brokers and find the one who suits your requirements.
