I like to do spreads on ES options expiring today. If it's volatile in the right direction, close out. If it's volatile in the wrong way, close the short side and pray for a swing back.
Day trading options is the same as trading stocks except you need to trade weeklies around Thursday and Friday otherwise the premiums are to high. If you want to trade NFLX or AMZN you have to do vertical spreads just to get the price down , again the best day is Friday for these as the premium drops to close to zero and you are trading the actual movement of the stock above or below your option
Mark says it is crazy and this is why it is crazy. When you buy a vertical debit spread the option that you sold retains so much value that it will frustrate you that you are not getting the gain that you anticipated considering a nice price move in your direction.
