Designing and Trading are two very different skill set. Designing a trading system takes brains. Trading require guts. It's like a race car. There are people who are good at designing a fast racing car. And there are people who are good at driving it. Rarely does anyone have both. I nor anyone I know ever had both when it came with trading. At least naturally. I had to retrain the way I think in order to trade my own system.

  3. If your trading system is profitable then I suggest you sell your trading signals in websites like Collective2 or Zulutrade.

You can easily make $50.000 or $100.000 a year that way.

Then wait at least a year, contact prop firms and show them your performance report from these websites. If it's good they will probably hire you and then you can really make some serious, serious money, on top of your own trading activities.

And after a few years, you can start your own hedge fund and make a killing...

Guess different strokes for different folks................I tend and try to learn alot from internet sources and forums are one of them. ET is one of the good forums that I have come across.

New folks in any field should do their solid research first before jumping into any deals with vendors etc. Watch the words 'any field'.......there are crooks in every second step of life out there, so make your own prudent decisions.

Internet is the 'most beautiful' thing that has happened to mankind in last 25 years !!

    :D :)

  5. well if you don't know that answner. either your a troll. okay.

the easy money in wall street is commissions and fees and managing other people's money and trading other people's money.

Traders are not all the same.

institutional trader: trading company money in prop. which many banks have closed.

financial advisor: get paid in commissions. clients can be grannies or instittutional clients.

portfolio manager: get paid to manage people's savings accounts or retirement accounts

floor trader: taking orders and and skimming the order. customer order is limit $1 to buy. you buy it for .98 cent and sells it to customer. profit 2 percent, customer doesn't know it. order takes a day to fill.

algo traders work for hedge funds: mainly getting alpha for hedge fund investors.

market makers: getting paid to fill orders.

local/indepdent traders: trading your own capital.

if you need to prove your system your system is no good.

  8. i t takes 8 years or more to be doctor, lawyer okay..it's different.

a trader or hedge fund manager is same as real estate agent or sales manager. you don't need to go to college to be salesman. like a salesman on commission, you are paid what your produce or profits and volume.

  9. why would a doctor, engineer, or lawyer or anyone making 6 figures with a steady pay check quit their job to daytrade or trade their own capital?
