Same thing was said of Obama. Come to think if it, same was said of Bush Jr and I could go back snd find someone saying that of Clinton.

Everyone finds fault with the other guy.

That’s exactly what I think of the nightly NBC news with Lester Holt. ABC and CBS are so far left can’t stomach them. Not even going to talk about CNN, MSNBC and such pure propaganda.

  4. Sure, but by whom? And what did Obama actually say to evoke such a comment? He never said he could do whatever he wanted to, about pretty much anything. Trump did. Repeatedly. So not all accusations are created equal.

My money is on Europe first disintegrating. Thanks to President Donald Trump, another 4 years of extreme liberal Socialism was averted which would have promptly reduced the US to third world country status. In other news, France with its Socialist policies are just about out of monies. Let us see how the unions deal with an increasingly, fascist Macron. He has already brutalized the Yellow Jackets on their what, 44th week of protest now? There is but, a handful of them left. Thousands arrested by French police, some killed, other blinded and maimed for life courtesy of the much more lethal riot weapons of the police. French unions are getting the same treatment soon!

You make an interesting point indirectly. The longer that the US can go without succumbing to the socialist craze, the better chance it has of avoiding it altogether as more and more failures around the world will become more and more evident.

I wish I could be as optimistic as you are about the capacity to learn with the mistakes of the past. But seeing the country that was built upon everything opposed to socialism and that because of this was the most successful in history, gradually succumb to it, with even a surprisingly big support for idiots like Bernie Sanders, people waving "sickle and hammer" flags and defending the very same failed policies implemented in disasters like the USSR as if they would be successful "this time", my hopes are not high.

In short, a huge portion of the american population cannot look back at its own past and recognize the reason their success was unique in the history of this world and at the same time, they close their eyes to the failures of the other nations who have gone the other way and vote for politicians that want to implement the very things that led those countries to ruin. It makes absolutely no sense.
