I know that NQ is heading down again, -60 pts

You're no longer long ES are you?

Remember what I said in late Jan about highs for the year likely are in?

No, I closed out those trades at a 24K loss on Sunday evening, because it was getting too close to a margin call. Was quite painful. I haven't updated the journal yet because, well, I just don't care right now. I went long last night in a single MYM on a single contract but neglected to maintain my overnight target of 100 points, and today it turns out the Dow decides to have another shit fit and drop 1000+ points. And it's still going down!

But now it is in Sep contract, so I have time.

    Sorry to hear that.

Of course you got to trade your trades, but if that MYM Sep contract doesn't work out (and you for some reason won't go short with the current trend) you might want to consider stepping aside for a while.

NQ just broke down thru 12800. Darn, sleep time.

It is an interesting thing in my head that goes on. How I see it as a buy, hold roll deal is that I look to see how far the market can drop before I get into the deep weeds. When I went long at the beginning of the year, I knew I could handle what the Fed was talking about through the end of last year. What I did not anticipate, and what had not happened in the years of my study, was a pandemic+war+supply chain issues+inflation+uber hawkish Fed that got caught trading the markets.

I went in too deeply at the peak not seeing all this coming to a head so quickly.

This go around, the Dow would have to drop 20,000 points for a margin call to occur with my position. I do not see this happening. Does anyone else here? I mean, 12,000 on the Dow is a very severe drop. Why would it do so? Algos?

That is what a stop is for.

Why study for years, then leave things to chance?

Long anything that isn't IT looks like an attractive play here. Not a researched opinion yet but selling seems stretched today a bounce seems likely to me.

ps Note while I was on here I just noticed QQQ bounced hard.
