  6. US government has only donated $500k to China. This is nearly nearly the smallest donation among all countries in the world.

I don't mean to sound anti-American. But if you really think about it, this is really stupid. This amt of $ isn't really enough for the US army in Iraq to spend a day. So the US President would rather spend much more on the war in Iraq and piss so many ppl off rather than giving a little bit more when China is in trouble.

Ppl are talking about how US is losing the soft war in international relationship. This is really a typical case.

Actually I can confirm that there are calls on internet for boycott Macdonald foods here in China. Macdonalds was among the first western companies to be able to do business in China, and they have vast share in China fast food market, but when such a catastrophy happens in China, they did virtually nothing to help the victims of the quake. Unlike companies such as Motorolla, Dell, Microsoft, Samsung, Toshiba.....which quickly announced donation to quake vicitims, companies like Macdonald, KFC, Nokia, were reluctant to make gestures to help in the time of trouble. Yes, we Chinese people care much about such gestures. Macdonald may pay a high price for its retardness in responding to the quake this time.

Yes you have a point, but please note that apart from the US government, donation from US amounted up to USD34,000,000 till today. This has made US among the biggest overseas donators this time. I think officials in Beijing take all this money as "Money from American friends", whether they are from US goverment or nongovernment institutions/people

China more than $1T USD sitting around, if they werent in such obsession with proping up their export sector the could use that money to help their people in anyway they want. its a joke that they want more money from bankrupt nations while they hoard a huge pile of savings
