Here is another version of the story:

A US military scout airplane invaded Chinese territory and was spot by a Chinese fighter plane. The pilot of the low-capability Chinese plane could not make the invader get out of the sensitive areas, neither could he shoot down the US plane otherwise there would be a war. He chose to make a mid-air collision with the US plane and forced it to land on a Chinese military airbase. US government had to apologize later cuz they could not explain why the US scout plane was appearing in the Chinese territory without permission. There was a third-party overseas report later that this incident enhanced the level of Chinese military technology related to scout plane by at least a generation bcz the US aircraft was sifted by Chinese engineers within its detainment at the local airbase.

Among a handful of military confrontations between China and US in the past two decades, this was a rare occasion when China was able to obtain a complete though low-profile victory.

  3. The collision was accidental, not intentional. It was clear from the video that the Chinese pilot never intended to hit the US plane but he lost control.

You may be right. After all the official report of that incident in China was quite untransparent, so there were many versions of the story around here. :D

  5. What if a Chinese spy plane hit a US fighter near Florida and landed at Miami airport, what would you say?

Are Americans too stupid to understand this?

If I were the president of China, I would sentence all the spies on the plane to the maximum extent of China's law.

  6. I didn't say the US manufacturing nominal value is less than what the Chinese manufacture.

What I meant was US products are expensive while the quality is shitty.

Just to follow up on this case...
    i) McDonald's has apologized.
ii) They explain that they learnt late of the announcement of the national mourning. When they knew it they tried to withdraw the ad but it was too late b'coz it is thru local postal service
iii) they hv agreed to donate 10M RMB
iv) BTW, at the bottom of the article, there is a part about what ppl are saying in the internet about this case (from 5 different ppl). There are some angry comment but the last 2 posters say that the protesters are over-reacting.

And in the body of the ad it also mentions that some clients protest that the protesters are wrong at making them difficult to hv a meal.

This report is pretty good, reporting both sides of the story. I hope ppl in this forum can learn from them.
