to receive a payment from a big company? Four weeks sounds alarming for me. It's an European company and they are sending, or sort of, wire transfer to my bank account... it usually takes 3 working days, not 4 weeks. It's my 1st time to deal with a big EU company.
4 weeks is not unusual for a big company to pay its bills. The invoice has to go through the whole Accounting system and they may then only do a check/payment run on specific dates. I wouldn't worry too much.....yet. After 4-5 weeks, it may be a good idea to check that they still have your payment in their system. As a small business owner, I never had trouble with getting payment from large companies, although the average wait time was much longer than getting payment from a small business.
Thanks for replying, at least I'm not that worried anymore... But it's not a nice feeling, they should have told me this - I would have charged them more!
absolutely right. most of the accounting programs set to process payment 30 days after invoice has been input into the system.
