  2. PA releases three Hamas prisoners
    By KHALED ABU TOAMEH

In a bid to defuse tensions with Hamas on the eve of the peace conference in Annapolis, the Palestinian Authority on Sunday released three Hamas members from prison.

The decision to release the Hamas men was taken by the PA leadership in Ramallah shortly before PA President Mahmoud Abbas and members of the Palestinian negotiating team headed to the US to participate in the conference.

The decision was taken in spite of Hamas's increased threats, in the past few days, to foil the peace conference. Hamas spokesmen have also stepped up their criticism of Abbas, warning him against making any concessions to Israel
    during the conference.

One of the three men who were released was Ahmed Dolah, a senior Hamas leader from Nablus. He was arrested more than three months ago in the context of a massive PA clampdown on Hamas figures and institutions in the West Bank.

The other two who were released Sunday were Ala al-Titi and Assid Amarneh, both from Hamas. The two, who work for Hamas's Al-Aqsa TV in Hebron, were arrested by the PA security forces 30 days ago.

The release of the three came as a surprise even to Hamas leaders. Only a day earlier, the PA security forces prevented two senior Hamas officials, Hassan Abu Kwaik and Faraj Rumaneh, from holding a press conference in Ramallah. The two were briefly detained and warned against making public appearances against the Annapolis conference.

Sources close to Hamas told The Jerusalem Post that Abbas's security forces have arrested 1,090 Hamas members in the West Bank since last June, when the Islamist movement took full control over the entire Gaza Strip. The sources said that the majority of the Hamas detainees have since been released. They also pointed out that until now not a single Hamas detainee has been put on trial.

Despite Abbas's latest gesture, Hamas officials in the Gaza Strip continued to issue condemnations of the Annapolis conference.

"The Palestinians won't recognize any agreement reached at Annapolis," Hamas legislator Mushir al-Masri told a women's rally in Gaza City. "We will never give up the right of return for the refugees. We will never surrender Jerusalem. Anyone who makes these concessions is a traitor."

Another Hamas official, Ashraf Abu Dayyeh, said his movement was planning a series of rallies in the Gaza Strip over the next few days to protest against the Annapolis conference. He expressed confidence that the majority of the Palestinians would reject whatever agreement is reached at the conference.

However, sources in the Gaza Strip said Hamas was facing difficulties in persuading other radical factions in joining the anti-Annapolis protests. According to these sources, leaders of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine have rejected Hamas's call to participate in public rallies against the conference. The leaders of the two radical groups justified their decision by arguing that they did not want to deepen divisions among the Palestinians.

Five PLO factions warned Sunday against turning the Annapolis conference into a platform for normalizing relations between Israel and the Arab world. The factions described the conference as a "conspiracy" against the Palestinians.

    - Israel has appeased these terrorists for the past 60 years and it has gotten nothing but death and destruction in return. now it seems the appeased are appeasing the appeased.
appeasement of terror has always failed and brought more terror. when the appeased start to appease, dear lord knows what these bastards are up to now.
however, this seems like more than a staged act than an appeasement. i mean "palestinian authority", hamas, al aqsa brigade...etc. does it make a difference? they will use any name they please even though most of the names they use are stolen and don't belong to them. all these factions are true students of propaganda. joseph gobbels would be proud.

  3. Bahrain spurns relations with Israel

Bahrain has refused an offer by Foreign Minister Tizpi Livni to establish diplomatic relations with Israel, the Jordanian Petra news agency reported Monday.

Last Tuesday, Bahrain's parliament called upon the Gulf Arab emirate's government to cease all contact with Israel and to refrain from attending Annapolis, which it labeled "a waste of time".

Islamist deputy Nasser al Fadhala said that Khalifa should ritually wash his hands six times with water and then cleanse them with sand for having shaken Livni's hand.

  4. Just as Thanksgiving and Christmas come around with predictable regularity, so, too, do Middle East peace summits arrive near the end of modern presidencies.

Bill Clinton had his and now the Bush administration is treading where previous fools have trod with what appears to be the diplomatic equivalent of a shotgun wedding in Annapolis, Md.

U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice waves to the crowd after addressing delegates at the United Jewish Communities General Assembly at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee, November 13, 2007. REUTERS/Josh Anderson (UNITED STATES)
    Related Media:

These gatherings never bring peace between Israel and the Palestinians. That's because only one side wants peace. The other wants pieces of Israel, chipping away at its borders until it can gobble up what remains of the country.

Liken it to a neighborhood plagued by gang violence. After repeated assaults on the residents and a rash of home burglaries, the gangs propose a deal. If homeowners remove their burglar alarms, dispose of any weapons they have for protection and vacate their houses, allowing gang members to move in, the gangs promise not to engage in any more violence. Who would make such a deal?

The so-called Palestinian side brings nothing to the table. It has yet to fulfill a major pledge made at previous summit meetings. If the Palestinian side were applying for a bank loan, they would be turned down for defaulting on prior loans. Only in the twisted logic of Middle East "diplomacy" is their credit undamaged.

How deep into denial is Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice when she promotes a charade that can only damage Israel and bring the region closer to another war? What could possibly persuade her that the Palestinian side is serious about making war no more and living in peaceful coexistence with Israel? Certainly not their actions, or their Holocaust denial, textbook and media slander of Jews and repeated assertions that Israel must be destroyed.

There are 22 Arab states. Will a 23rd bring stability to the region? There is no evidence - none - that the establishment of a Palestinian state will end the violence. On the contrary, it will signal the end of Israel, because it will show to Israel's enemies that the perpetrators of violence and the breakers of promises are never held accountable. Why shouldn't those who hate Jews and other "infidels" regard Annapolis and every other such gathering as steps on the road to Israel's oblivion?

It is Israel - and Israel alone - that receives pressure to make concessions. The only pressure on the Palestinian side is to show up at these road shows in order to be handed another pound of Israeli flesh. It isn't a piece of land that the Palestinians want. It is all the land. They say so. Through six wars and numerous intifadas and other terrorist attacks, the Palestinian Charter, sermons, newspaper editorials and many other outlets, the message is clear: Israel is an illegal occupier of Muslim land and must be evicted by any means necessary.

The United States and the rest of the diplomatic world that believes there is an as-yet undiscovered formula that will tame Israel's enemies is self-deluded to the point of self-destruction. Having destroyed Israel, it won't end there. Crazed Islamic fanatics will sign up in droves for the "honor" of coming to America to blast away at our foundations. In fact, according to our ludicrously named Department of Homeland Security, they are already here because we willingly let them in under the same misguided creed that guides U.S. policy in the Middle East. If we just show them how welcoming and wonderful we are, they will see we mean them no harm and change their minds about killing us.

Republicans mocked such sentiments when the left suggested in the '80s that unilateral disarmament would persuade the Soviet Union we meant them no harm. Now, members of the Bush administration are applying this same illogic in Annapolis and expect a positive response. It, too, deserves derision.

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert faces possible indictment at home for allegedly trading political favors for a large discount on a home he purchased in Jerusalem. If he buckles in Annapolis to pressure for more concessions without first demanding the Palestinian side live up to previous agreements, his actions will move from alleged malfeasance to a sellout of his country's interests.

  6. the situation is aggravated by the Bush administration's desperate quest for a headline-worthy foreign-policy success

Whether the American administration is Republican or Democrat, it pressures Israel for concessions - since the Arabs won't make any. Prisoner releases precede each summit; territorial handovers come under discussion.

For their parts, Arab leaders and their representatives assume we're sufficiently honored if they just show up.

Consider what peace with Israel - real peace - would mean in the West Bank and Gaza, in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley: Tens of thousands of gunmen (and terrorists) out of work, with no marketable skills - and radicalized by decades of fanatic rhetoric.

Think a punk who's grown accustomed to swaggering around town in a face mask with a Kalashnikov is going to scrub squat toilets for a living?

Generations have grown addicted to the struggle - and its perks. It's the only bearable justification for their individual and collective failures in life.

Another reason Arab states won't make peace: Most of their leaders have only survived in power because they have Israel to blame for every disappointment their people face. Israel has become the great excuse for every self-wrought failure in the Middle East - and that excuse is more valuable to Arab rulers than peace could ever be.

In the end, the problem's difficulty can be put in New York City terms: A shiftless, violent family that turned an apartment into a slum was evicted. The new tenants cleaned up the place and made the apartment a showcase. Now the former tenants hate them for it - and want the apartment back.

Who will leave disappointed, if nothing much results?

The Arabs won't care. They came because we got on our knees and begged.

The Israelis will just be relieved that their latest trip to the geostrategic dentist is over.

Any Russians soiling the furniture at the Naval Academy will be delighted if another American effort flops.

And the Europeans just popped in to check the "we care" box.

The only unhappy campers will be us. We set ourselves up. Again.

Oh, and even if there's some sort of agreement, only the Israelis will honor it. Grudgingly.

It's a lot easier to believe in Santa than in Arabs accepting a just peace with Israel.

  7. the palestinian myth and arab terrorist refugee occupation of israel must come to an end.
the only way for it to end if for the world to know the truth. below are photos of the carnage and horror jews in israel face from the jordanian refugees a.k.a. "palestinian" terrorists. i warn you. these photographs are very graphic and are not for everyone to see, but the truth must be told and journalistic bias and arab propaganda must be finally overlooked. if the world knows and cares, these arab terrorists occupying israeli land will and should be deported back to jordan where they belong and brought to justice for these horrible gory murders of innocent people.

below was just 1 incident what these arab terrorists have done to jews in israel.

A Palestinian terrorist blew up a bomb in Tel-Aviv suburb supermarket killing one person and seriously wounding 9 other people including a 4 year old kid. Yehezkel Yakutiel(age 42) father of 3 children, was killed in the attack.

Sister of suicide bomb victim cry as fresh grave is covered

The brother (father of 3) was unemployed for few months. His wife was at work.
The 3 kids (ages: 4, 7 & 11) asked him for something to eat (it was mid summer holiday and he took care of them at home)
So he went to the grocery store to buy milk and cookies. He had only two items, so he stood by the quick checkpoint stand which is right next to the entrance where the bomber walked in.

He was 41 years old who went to buy food for his kids.
