Almost every trader could point to blowing out accounts or at least losing sizable amounts before they learned to - call it "tuition" or "paying your dues..."

I don't know how useful this question is since it depends on your net worth. If someone makes 50 bucks a day that sounds like shit but if there account is $1000, that aint bad. Someone else might make $4000 but with a multi million dollar account.

It might be more interesting if you asked how much of a person's liquid net worth they lost in the beginning.

I'm guessing most traders lost over 50% of that when they started out.

  3. oh no, rcanfiel's sock puppet is at it again, with the polls!! :D

  4. probably a reasonable assumption...

  5. It was actually 12,500

  6. honestly it depends if you are stupid enough to trade w/ out an edge.

I can't say I've dropped > $2,000 in neg since I started. Of course I take much bigger swings now...

    like I lost ~5,000 today :)

  7. no offense but I highly doubt someone w/ only 15 posts really is a profitable trader

    just my 2 cents
